Lewis Cass, captain of Newcastle's U-23s, can play right back or central defender, and Henrich Ravas, Derby's U-23 keeper, 6ft 4 and had a season on loan at Gainsborough Trinity. He's from Slovakia.

Going to try to ignore all the behind the scenes crap because I think Dave Challionor has put together a very competitive squad and we should go closer to the play off's than last season's 12th. Up the Pools!

Behind the scenes crap, I hope you mean on this board.
Because there,s people on here who call themselves supporters bur truely are not.
People at the club are working their bollocks off and all they get from here is crap, from people who shoul know better.

The only comments on this board that I'm really interested in are those concerning the team and the future of the National League - a minority concern judging by the last few months.

I'm not at all impressed by the club's lack of communication with ordinary fans and season ticket holders, the state of the OS etc. Not going to criticise anyone willing to help out as a volunteer but I do question whether being fully professional on the field and relying on unpaid labour off it is going to work out in the long run. At the very least Pools need a public face to front things up - Jesper is the invisible man as far as the majority of fans are concerned.

Can't be that many people working hard when a majority were either sacked or furloughed...

Challinor looks to have assembled a decent squad, the sort of squad I believe he would want rather than a squad forced on him. A lot of the signings are very similar to the ones we've had in the past, that have largely proved to be disappointing. The difference this time though is that DC has signed them , a manager i have every faith in, rather than the likes of Hignett and Bates, managers who were clueless.

On the field everything points to a top 7 finish, but I do feel events off the field will quickly unravel and put a spoke in the wheels of any good work going on off the field, With that in mind I am predicting a 7th-10th place finish.

Pools lack of organisation and structure during the close season/lockdown I reckon has already lost the club potential revenue. To think they could've employed a couple of people for a fraction of the money that they have lost. People won't be so keen on sponsorship and replica strips in November.

Anyway, good luck to DC and his players for the 2020/21 season.

If they have been working their bollocks off, what the hell have they been doing?

People on here have to my mind always supported those who work for the club behind the scenes, even me. I have often jumped to the defence of the poor buggers who have to work in the ticket office and club shop , who have to take the flak for the incompetence of the owners/CEO

agree. fans need to have a go at decision makers and not club employees who have no power. just because they are easy to get at is no excuse. like so many times when i was on the buses where i got dogs abuse for buses missing with driver sickness and short of staff. they could not get it as if i wasn,t there they,d be waiting even longer.
