Cheers. Looking forward to Micky Barron co-commentating and will be paying my fiver.

Not that there's anything on the OS or the Fail about the game, but according to the Heed's website it's still on. Hope Dave and the lads have been told!

Good 4-1 win. Enjoyed that. Goals from Liddle, Parkhouse, Ofusa and Holohan?

Think Grey got the second one so Liddle, Grey, Parkhouse, Ofusu. Got to say the lads looked very comfortable in possession and kept passing their way through Gateshead all game. All 11 players stayed on the pitch the full 90 minutes as there was a practice match this morning at Darlington.

After the strangest pre-season in history I'm looking forward to the NL starting next week (fingers crossed).

I don’t like judging teams in friendlies but I did think Pools looked well although the opposition was not that good. Also there were three or four players not playing who I expect to be there or there about next week..
Anyhow I found it an enjoyable watch and worth the £5.

Just out of interest Micky Barron who was on the commentary team said he was talking to his good friend Darren Clarke who told him there were that many players looking for a club they (clubs) had the upper hand in dealings and more or less take it or leave.

Plenty of goals/incidents, , Esh 2-0 at half time, Heaton looked on course for a thumping, but how many times do you see this in football? second half Heaton came out transformed and ended up winning 4 - 2.

Crowd was 91 , good little set up, had a couple of beers in Durham before and after, and one in the Black Horse, the pub we were in a few weeks ago.

Esh Winning have a great ground and I really like the club house there. Crook and Shildon are two nice grounds as well although Shildon usually gets full fairly quickly.

I've been watching Northern league games since early september and they're usually good value for money, even including food, drink programmes etc. The play is usually pretty attacking, saw an amazing game at Willington where they narrowly won 4-3 against Durham.

Agree totally.

Probably go to Willington next Saturday, at home to Esh Winning ironically.

In a perfect world it would be nice to think Pools fans would adopt a Northern League team whilst we can't watch our games, and give said team a helping hand financially , Billy Town would be the logical choice.

I went to Crook yesterday as some of my mates play for them. They do an awesome chicken curry and chips for £4!! Highly recommended. It was a very good game too, 2-0 down to the Synners but pulled it back and could have won it.

Some decent crowds in the evostik northern prem at the weekend.
Limited up to 600 which isent to bad for the size of the grounds.
And don't think there's been many if any covid postponements.

Will national League get the go ahead to get fans in even if it's only a 1000? :angry-tappingfoot:

Darlow? Elite? Strange times indeed ;)

That aside, I agree that if you're desperate enough to see a match, then head to a local one just below that level. Another benefit is being able to watch the match with a pint in hand too!

Awkward with a mask on, though in my experience a lot at these games just stay in the social club bar anyway
