See both Toure and Alesandra scored for Carlisle managed by Chris Beech at Wigan on Saturday, Also former loanee Dinanga has signed for Stevenage.

Alesandra was class but I never really rated Dinanga. Which one of them will score against us in the FA cup?

Got to mention that yesterday Pools signed midfielder Tom Crawford from Notts County and Joe Grey signed his first professional contract. There was the usual paper talk that the likes of Sunderland and Newcastle were interested in signing Joe. I'm glad he's stuck with Pools - hope he breaks into the team and scores some goals, it looks like he'll be the last youth team 'graduate' to do that for the foreseeable future.

Anyone know what's happening with Josh Hawkes? The paper talk about him joining a big club has gone very quiet. Do Carlisle need another midfielder?

honestly, even if you rate hawkes like i do then this is his level. there are only a handful of non league clubs bigger than pools anyway.

I agree, and wonder if he's regretting his decision to turn down the contract offer he had from us? Spennymoor or Gateshead more likely than Braga or Leeds.

What happened to the forward from Jersey who came for a trial back end of last season?

Lorne Bickley got a better offer from a more ambitious club. He signed for Kettering in National League North

That's a bit naughty. He'd no sooner arrived in Hartlepool in March than Covid brought an end to the season. He was only on a short-term contract and has never been mentioned by Dave Challinor since. No doubt it was a frustrating couple of months for the lad and I hope he takes his chance at Kettering.

As far as I can see we only have 4 out and out defenders in a squad of 17 so far, that's Liddle, Odusina, Ferguson and Cunningham(got about a dozen games between them at the Vic). Need to get a couple more in surely?, unless any of the many attacking midfielders we have can play there?

Noticed in the friendly that Donaldson was listed as a full back, not sure if he played that position but wondering if DC sees him as a fit if we don't secure the services of MSH?

Whilst I noticed there was four unnamed trialists there was someone called Campbell I’ve never noticed him signing. Have I missed something?

He's played as full back before - not last season but earlier on in his time at Pools. Donaldson does OK there from the point of view of being reasonably quick and a box to box type of player. I'm sure Challinor will sign a specialist full back if Fleetwood don't play ball with MSH - maybe another loanee?

Glad Myles Anderson has got himself fixed up - he has a brilliant attitude on and off the field and was always doing stuff on the community side for Pools - raising money for the NHS during the lockdown was typical of the fella.

Was more of a wing back, but as you say did okay. Anderson is a good signing for Weymouth. Noticed Ferguson put the cross in for the goal yesterday, he will prove to be a good signing for us. Can't see MSH signing for us, he featured in Fleetwood play off games, albeit coming on as sub, which suggests will be either part of their plans or loaned out to or sign for league 2 club IMO

Rakish is still only 26, plenty of time left to prove his fire hasn't gone out - just not against Pools!
