Wonder how this has come about. He was retained by Pools, has the racialist incident upset him?

Another player we never got the best out of. Another black player who leaves Hartlepool after only a season. What's the betting this time next year Ofusu is on his way?

No explanation on the OS. He's only got a 1 year + 1 year option at Boreham Wood so there won't be a transfer fee involved.

It's a bit baffling. I thought Gus's form dipped around Christmas and Dave Challinor didn't play him much, but he's a definite loss with the squad still so threadbare. Maybe what happened in the Dover game did unsettle him.

seems to have been one who suffered the most when the new players were brought in last january. seems he was one that challinor wanted to replace in the side.

I got the impression from DC that Gus was one of those players that often needed a cuddle ,possibly not that strong mentally. No doubt BW like Barnet with Loach , will get the best out of him and he will be in the NL team of the year at the end of next season

Good interview about the transfer with Dave Challinor in the Mail now. Turns out Gus was Pools' highest paid player, he couldn't guarantee him games with the system he wants to play and Boreham Wood were really keen, so letting him go there takes pressure off the wage bill. The manager reckons he can sign 2 players with the money Gus was on!

Do worry that again we lack combative midfielders, we tried playing wingers in midfield roles a few years back and it didn't work, you need that mix of holding midfielder, attacking midfielder and combative for me.

Good business if that's the case
Nice one manager.

exactly. thats why pools and others ended up in non league in the first place. how cheap you are seemed more important than how good you are.
