Amongst all the worrying, anger and baffled looks...did anyone notice what an excellent game the referee had?

He let the game flow constantly, rarely blew his whistle and was always on top of Shrewsbury's persistent fouling and obvious timewasting tactics.

9 out of 10 for me.

Did you notice when he came out at half time he came out with their team cracking a joke and generally having a laugh, ran past one of their players and gave him a playful pat, totally ignored the Pools players in the centre circle then stood with one of their players for a bit of banter and another laugh...good to see the ref fostering good relations...

To be fair, I noticed that the one we had against Swindon did that.

Ref was shite for most of the match. Later on he clicked to the timewasting, but that was about it.

he was an absolutely terrible ref. far to many stupid free kicks given to both sides so the game couldn't flow.

Correct me if I'm wrong but just how does a referee keep on top of persistent fouling and obvious timewasting tactics without blowing his whistle???
