I'm opting out. As much as I'd like to see some pals and have a few bevvies, I suspect it will be silly season here in the Metropolis. IMHO Pubs should have reopened on a Monday, just to give a softer testing of new procedures.

Yes agree entirely about a early week start........Saturday is just asking for trouble.

Sorry Mr Accrington I won't let it happen again!!!!!! I'm staying in today and checking my messages ala football Saturday. However I'm waiting for the reports of which pub it's kicked off in, which are over run etc.etc. To make it worse a couple of the Bigger (in size) Pubs with large Beer Gardens have chosen not to open.

luckily in my area it was drizzling all day so i doubt anyone would be keen on drinking in the rain. heard on the news this morning that there was some trouble in london but heard nothing about the proper half of the country, north of doncaster.

Seems to have been quiet yesterday in the Metropolis. My local apparently was "steady away" all day. From other pics I've seen on FB the Pubs didn't look overly busy. Soho looked busy in a non socially distancing way.

We had a trip up to South Shields this afternoon and a drink in a couple of pubs with outside seating. Both were quiet, no problem getting an outside table at either. One was much better organised than the other - doorman to explain the system, hand sanitizer outside the entrance, given a code to scan onto my phone, one way system in and and out of the pub, pay at the bar and drinks brought to the table by a waitress wearing disposable gloves. They'd gone to a lot of trouble for 6 customers!

All in all it felt no more risky that the weekly slog round the local supermarket. Delighted to have a quiet afternoon or early evening pint at a pub back on the menu of life - when they're busy I'll be nowhere near.

Popped in my local yesterday and today for a few pints. Social distancing, etc etc etc was fine. If I didn't feel safe I wouldn't have popped in today. The \metropolis by all accounts was mainly fine at the weekend.

bet the media were upset. they,d have sent camera crews, reporters and photographers all over the country looking for trouble. when there wasn,t any there would be shouts of hold the front page.

you mean more likely that you get stuff but just carry on unlike those who have a season ticket and a loyalty card for the doctors.

Pub opens up and then days later a visiting customer rings them up and tells them he tested positive for covid ..pub closes again ...it's not going to end well for the pub trade.

After two pints social distancing goes to rat shit.
So its ok for one metre in pubs that disappears after a few bevies yet its 2 metres elsewhere?
The government should simply have kept the pubs shut and propped them up.
