Why is bread shit nowadays? A simple white unsliced loaf seem to be beyond the ability of the big supermarkets and the poncey labelling is fooling no one. Anyone know a decent independent baker who can do the simple things as God intended?

Snowy, have you tried Lidl,s bakery bread, they actually do some good ones.

Hope it all goes well Mr Butt, I'll keep the home flag flying on the bread front.

I`m having my genetically engineered white blood cells transplanted back into me, only the 3rd person from this area to receive it, hoping it`s gonna work.

Cooplands buns aint bad for shop bought and now open at Lizzy Way.
Victoria's at the Fens (now open) make decent stotties and excellent corned beef pasties.
Wonder when Greggs are going to reopen and the bairns can be treat to an Artlepool dummy.

Mr Bluestreak, you can buy frozen Greggs food from Iceland. Dad and I have enjoyed Corned Beef Pasties, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Sausage and Bean Bakes, aswell as Saussignion de Rolls. On the down side you have to bake em yourself. As an aside Aldi's similar Frozen Saussignion Rolls are just as good and cheaper.

Just had some Italian Flatbreads from Aldi. They were rather nice if you like this sort of thing.

I just love our new retro style bread bin, it just goes so well with the kitchen tiles.
