Just watched the news and this garden centre (not center) had signs up saying 'keep 2 meters apart', now I was always taught that its spelt metres, and that meters is the American spelling. A meter is an instrument used for measuring (ie water/gas meter).

....Sort it out Coxhall.

Was the garden center owned by a Yank?
If he has a water metre he will have to pay by the cubic meter used.
Does that help.

It was Scottish owned. Maybe a tad picky but seemed an obvious mistake for a British firm....unless they ordered the signs on-line from an US Co?

I think the only way to water down water is to boil it and convert it into steam but i am not sure how big that would be in meters or US gallons.

In welsh its "metr" which possibly could be a compromise that the whole world could adopt.

probably a deliberate mistake in spelling. some love to spell in the yank fashion. how many Drive Thru stuff do you see and colour as color.

If you get an Email from a Nigerian Prince/Lawyer and the spelling is attrocious, more people will read to the end and then give their Bank Details. If spelling is correct people will read the first line or 2 and then just se blah blah etc and ignore. Fact Hence scsmmers deliberately mispell. FACT

*If you've read this far enter your Bank code, sort code, and 3 digit security number, oh and your Maiden name. Just asking for a freind from Nigeria.
