I don’t think it’s sensible to be signing anyone just yet.

Honestly mate, I’m not questioning the lads quality. We don’t know at the moment when the season starts and it’ll be aug/sep at best. That’s three months wages for a club with very little funds.

On the other hand, if there is cash in the budget then he looks a good player.

Sadly there will be richer clubs than ours after him.

As said above, if he is that good, will probably end up elsewhere. Personally I thought he was okay in some games, not so much others, I think playing alongside Liddle helped, I think there is better out there, someone more suited to this level of football.

Anybody undercontract or offered a new contract will be furloughed, costing the club nothing at the moment. I doubt we'll sign anybody until we know when we can start getting some income in to pay wages. There will be many clubs in the same boat, squads will not be put together until very late this year. They haven't decided how to finish last season let alone how and when to start the next one.

I can't see many clubs signing players, and if they do I wonder if they are doing wage deferal deals, we'll pay you 60k for a 12 month contract, but can't start paying you until October at the earliest and if the season doesn't start at all, then a contract termination clause.

Don't know about this Odisini feller (is he Italian?) but the manager rates Timi Odusina enough to have had him at Fylde and Hartlepool. Agree with poolie that he looks a real prospect who could play at a higher level with Pools. Hopefully a deal will be done at some point this summer.

if pools signed him today there is no problem with his wages. he,ll still be paid by norwich until the end of june. whether people rate the lad or not, no one could say that the pools defence was much better with him and liddle than raynes and kerr. even ben killip looked more composed. would be a bit of a coup if we got him if only one league club was after him.

With the current uncertainty over whether we'll actually have a club, prospective new recruits might just be put off.
He would be a good acquisition in my opinion.

Isn't pretty much every lower league club in the same boat? Leaking money, no certainty about the start of next season, hence no season ticket income - and still waiting for extra cash from the Premier League that may never arrive. Challinor was saying last week there could be 1400 professional footballers without clubs come July. Sounds like a bit of an exaggeration, but there could easily be getting on for a thousand out of work.

if all pro clubs including those in our league only release 10 each then that would make it 1150 players. a couple more from each club would get to challinors figure. the only problem is that many of these will be ex youth team players who were given a seasons contract and have not pushed on. doubt there will be players of this type from clubs like grimsby that would move pools forward next season.

The club should probably pay it’s redundant staff before it signs new players.

With all these players getting the heave ho the standard on Grayfields is going to be very good.
