Despite asking the same question as others on that conference, she is far and away the most incisive opposition politician. I think Labour have really missed a trick by not making her leader.

I agree but I don't think she's interested until the party is rid of the extreme left element.
Very intelligent lady.
We are working on it, don't worry.
I do wish Momentum had the guts to form their own party (what a laugh that would be) instead of the hijacking, back stabbing, under the table tactics that marxists are notorious for.
One day.

Past it now , but she is experienced and has a talent , and has just had your man , BoJo the clown , on toast at the meeting of the liaison committee. Unfortunately she is far too neo - liberal for my liking and an avid Bliarite. What we need in this country is a Labour party who call themselves New Labour but actually carry out Socialist policies of Corbyn , our doubt our dense public would notice , as long as they thought it wasn't a party with Socialist ideals they would vote for it.

That's the problem we face , to get elected we have to be seen to be anti Socialism , but Socialist policies are the only way to overturn the neo-liberal destruction of the last 40 years , otherwise future general elections may as well be decided by a toss of the coin , as there will be little between the two major parties Tories and New Labour in terms of overall policy. We will still have homelessness , unemployment , immigration problems , lack of housing , poor transport infrastructure , North/South divide etc etc etc

I don’t think she ‘had him’ but she certainly put him on the spot.

Your party has a problem with the word socialism because a lot of people don’t see much of a difference between that and Marxism.

Only because the British establishment and their press wont allow people to see the difference. I have said before , long before Jeremy Corbyn came along we will never have a truly Socialist government in this country , I don't think the majority of people want that , they didn't in the 1950s so why would they now? , there is still support out there for it though , but even if there wasn't , even if I was its only supporter , it doesn't make it wrong . I am still convinced Socialism or something very damn close to it , is the only way to sort out the problems that face this country and save the world. Of course if not enough people cant see that , then god knows where we are headed. , the American model no doubt. My guess is sometime in the future ( not in our life time though ) something resembling Socialism will have to be enacted , in order for the human race to survive. You could even say the response to this pandemic has a semblance of Socialism about it , benefits raised , staff furloughed etc , its always the turn to ideology when things go tits up , like bailing out the banks , nationalising the east coast train service.

Its only the greed of individuals that are its enemy.

Greed is a human trait and Corbyn's greed was a greed for power, even though his election to number 10 would destroy his country. Fortunately his own core support deserted him because they knew the consequences of backing him would be disastrous.
The left hate Johnson and the Tories but really their anger should be directed at the reason the Tories sailed into number 10 which is Corbyn and momentum.
Will they ever learn???? Probably not.

The thing is Mr H those areas you mention; furlough etc demonstrate what I have said all along, Boris is a middle of the road politician with a social conscience. Could you ever imagine the further right politicians such as Cameron and Osbourne implementing those policies?

You may be right , for the sake of the people , particularly those less well off in less well off parts of the country , lets hope so, I have my doubts though. He is certainly his own man , a maverick , as much not liked by his own party as Corbyn , he won't last long. Difficult to say whether Cameron and Osborne would've done the same thing , they would've probably had to , regardless of their own personal thoughts on the matter , though I gave a nod to Socialism in relation to furloughing etc , it cant be forgotten that the reason for it, like the bailing out of the banks was/is to save the Capitalist free market economy , so first and foremost done to help business , but as a result their workers benefit.

all that is true especially the last sentence. my only gripe with the labour party has always been the constant championing of so called minorities. it should be a party of everyone in the country and not where the majority seems to be sacrificed for any minority groups . know the tories do this where they look after their own first. every man, woman and child are equal. everyone should think this from birth. our biggest threat for me is still from the far right where at times labour has given them their racist homophobic platform.
