Might apply to some on here , or people you know.

Just been informed there will be a mobile testing site at Dalton Park operating for the next three days. If you qualify or know of someone else who does and should consider getting a test then the following link explains eligibility and how to book an appointment.
It was flagged up that if you go online and try to book an appt it is not providing you with Dalton Park as an option. If people get a booking for York or Gateshead they can present at Dalton Park between 10-3 Sun -Tues and will be seen.
It seems the link on the site to book an appt sends you to the Dept of Health and they have not updated their options to include Dalton Park (seems they have had a history of such problems), but they are onto it now so it should soon be rectified and people can take their place amongst the 100k per day

I had a test on Friday. Cotton bud around the back of your throat then same bud up your nose. 48 hours later you get a text.

Did you have any symptoms or were you simply doing your bit for the party?

I have just read on Twitter as mentioned in the other thread that Conservative party members got emails offering tests to boost numbers. I’m not sure how doing that is helping us beat the virus.

I got a test because of my party membership obviously and nothing to do with being in a high risk category.

Yes. Sore throat, cough, temperature. Nothing terrible and hasn’t got worse but got tested.

The swab up the nose was awful, I nearly wretched.

Of course, I'd forgotten about the health problems you had a few years ago. You'll probably get the result tomorrow.
Good luck with the result. If you start getting out of breath get yerself straight in.

The reports of using dogs to detect covid19 is being widely talked about in the press and hopefully it may be a goer.
Anyone fancy a wet nose in your crotch?

I think some of these "announcements" are made to test the reaction and designed to get the public to stay onside.
If they had proposed no exit from lockdown whatsoever the media would have been up in arms citing they had no plan for a move forward.
This way they get the media to question their plans on " back to school" and attract support for " baby steps".
The problem the media and those in general opposition to the government tactics have is the team who are running the show are just too clever for their critics and are playing them like puppets.
The media and especially the BBC are simply out of their depth. Jenny Harries spouts three or four big words and they all fold.

Apparently anyone with loss of smell & taste should self isolate for 14 days as it's a symptom of covid19.
Just cracked a massive fart after last night's curry and thank the lord I am clear.

According to a gadgie from Kings College London there are fourteen symptons at least and he also reckoned between three and half million and five million who have had the disease in this country and a fair percentage of them don't even know they've had it, so mild were their symptons.
I suppose this new antibody test will prove whether he's right or not.

The antibody test is the big key in the understanding I think. That’ll give facts instead of social media guesses.

I'm sure of that. Allegedly it is supposed to be near enough 100% accurate, Coupled with track and trace using the App we will be in a far better position.

I'm not sure how they quantify an excess death. Who qualifies as an included death and who is excess?

Think it based on some average experienced over the same time period based on historic data.
The statisticians seem to think it will ultimately be more accurate than covid19 being mentioned on death certificates as the dead person may not have been tested and busy doctors are not that accurate.
But statistics are statistics.

It's probably be best to ask a funeral director to get an accurate view on covid19.

I presume this will be the eventual measurement and in the 3rd world it will be too.

I have got to say i am finding the BBC tv and radio coverage of the virus a bit OTT and depressing. Yes i have the message and yes it need reiterating.
I have now re tuned to the likes Virgin/Smooth/Mellow/Classic radio and limit "news reports" to 30 minutes a day watching mainly documentaries/films made before the pandemic.
Bit disappointed with Jeremy Vines giving a lot of coverage/credence to a pub chains view that the 2 metre rule should be reduced to 1 metre. Yes the WTO says 1 metre but they have got to consider the whole world. Can you imagine if India had to keep 2 metres apart? It would mean half the population would be in the Indian ocean. And yes i think the pubs in the UK are shafted as our "pub" culture is very different.

Good to see Hartlepool is doing the right thing instead of following the London centric governments view.

Its going to be somewhere like here that will be the first to lock down again.
England is too big and diverse to move at the same speed.
Its good to see Hartlepool Council putting out a clear message but the government have already given the green light which will be interpreted by the dickheads and the chancers as its all over.

The three government mistakes that are going to cost lives.
1. Changing the stay at home message to stay alert.
2. The Dom Cummings farce.
3. Meet with 6 people if you like.

The 5 outlined by Hartlepool Council and the local Director of Public Health on "how to protect myself" (see above) are clear and concise.
Not bad for a bunch of political gymnasts.
