Some bars to open in certain areas. Only half the terrace..2 metres distance between tables..menu's have to be replaced by electronic devices..paper table clothes to be replaced .only one at a time allowed in the toilets which need to be cleaned a minimum of 6 times a day. Can't see it being worth opening tbh.

The culture/behaviour (of locals)in bars in Spain is totally different to the UK.
They have a drink and a chat we go there to get wasted.
Yes it would just not worth be opening as turnover would be down and staff costs may well increase.

Don’t worry, the war memorial or the park bench should be fine

Previous regulations delimited the terraces to a small area. They will now be allowed to expand the terraced area up to the parking limit to fit more tables. You can't keep good señores from su terraza ...

... and I know a helluva lot of terraces with only a single bog anyway, so that won't do owt.

A street tour of Benidorm yesterday clearly showed the price of a pint of Amstel at Peds bar at 1.20 euros..no increase there then.

Why would anyone in their right mind go to Benidorm unless you long for the old Blackpool days of the UK. It’s like the Peter Kay sketch, it’s like home but you got the weather.

You were tied naked to a lampost on your stag do Compo? Walk ten minutes away from Calle Gerona area and the place is fine for me.I prefer Benalmadena now.

I haven’t had a stag do so I wouldn’t know. I just despise everything about them locations I much rather go anywhere else. Still each to their own if full English in British pubs, crap comics and sticky Vicky is your bag fill your boots.

Yes, 6 visits to Beni in the past few years is enough for the time being..Do you want the full list of Spanish resorts i've visited over the years? You could turn your nose up at them too.

Have you asked her if she can help freaky teeth, from a safe distance of course.

Never seen the place, never mind been in it. I obviously didn't visit that part of town. Doesn't look as if I missed much. Mind you my visit was about twenty years ago.

Mr Sussex, Benidorm absolutely deserves to have any self respecting nose turned up at it. Spain has many beautiful towns, cities and countryside. Benidorm is not amongst any of them them.

Anywhere in Spain that does a full English breakfast deserves to be passed by with all noses being upturned.

Northern Spain gets my vote with beautiful towns and cities untouched by the ravages of WW2.
Hats off to the fascist Franco who sat on the sidelines.

Agreed Mr Bluestreak. Galicia is under appreciated and very green. If you like fish there is no better place on Earth. Even better is that it’s unsullied by fat Brits in Union Jack shorts eating a full English and complaining that these foreigners don’t speak English.

I am most familiar with Santander area in Cantabria region which is a delight. Farmhouse restaurants selling home reared meats and grown veg and there is a bar/restaurant in town that has cabinets displaying bottles of old wines going back to the early 1940s. (name escapes me)

Went on a walking holiday in 2001 in the Picos De Europa , as you say beautiful and untouched , a bigger and more remote version of the Lake District , with a similar climate , though even then there were the first signs of new roads getting built with recently found EU money , imagine its not as under the radar now. Its a horrible thing to say , but I tend to look for places where there are few Brits , says a lot about our people. Saw one or two in Asturias , the usual property developer types , trying to make a fast buck and spoil the fookin place. Luckily the lack of roads and trashiness etc kept the Brits away. Loved the food over there , everything you ate and drank was locally sourced , and that was before locally sourced became fashionable , this place was still stuck in the 19th century. Afterwards I always said I would walk the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the South of Spain , but never got around to it.

Yes Mr Horden i went to the Picos De Europa and went on a cable car to the snow cover summit.
I was with a mate of mine and we hummed the tune to "Where eagles dare" much to the amusement of our fellow passengers.(they had no idea)
The absence of fast food it noticeable in many areas which i believe is local government policy.

Went on the funicular railway , stayed in a couple of mountain refuges when walking up in the mountains , only way to get food and drink up there was by donkey, bloody freezing , slept in a bunk with all my clothes and boots on. Great scenery though , mountain goats , eagles , but no wolves , though apparently there are still a few knocking about.

An old bloke I know lived there (Spain) with his wife a good few years Ago. They did the unBritish thing and moved to a small town in the hills, integrated with the locals and learnt the Language, and ate the food. One day he was sat in a bar with the locals enjoying a Vino, along with the Chief of Police whom he was friends with. 4 pissed up Brits got off their hired bikes and came noisily into the bar shouting about Gibraltar being English etc. My mate who at the time was a decent amateur Heavywieght Boxer had a "polite" word with them but they didn't desist. Then the Chief of Police walked over (in full uniform, gun etc), looked at the lads, smiled and said "what has Gibraltar got to do with us up here in the Mountains? Why would we want it back off Britain? What we really want back off the British is Benidorm!!!" My mate said it was a priceless moment.
