The league nobody wants to be top of. 3 North East towns top the national figures of highest infection rates per 100k. Sunderland are top followed by Gateshead then Middlesbrough. South Tyneside 5th with Cumbria 6th. sadx

The data from which its took has just changed from authorities overall cases(which did have Hartlepool in the bottom 6) to the ratio per 100k, thankfully putting the town in 78th, although still higher than places such as Manchester, Leeds and Hull.
I assumed wrongly prior to that it was London/Birmingham who would be highest(ratio) but alas it would seem it's the north east. Places mainly in the South West feature at the bottom.

Not so much that area, but it's Somerset, Devon, Dorset, Cornwall, Wiltshire who are in the lowest 6. North East Lincs is in the bottom spot.

The town was 78th in that list, now 45th, which is quite a significant jump.

Yeah , but we tested 127,000 on Wednesday ( Stephen Barclay on QT last night ) even though all other sources said it was actually 76,000. A favourite word of theirs at the moment is RAMPING UP, the only thing they are ramping up , is their incessant lying.

So are you saying Jonathon Van Tam was lying on last night's bulletin. He said over 126,000 and never mentioned 76,000, so why can't you believe him? He has impressed with his knowledge and is obviously a switched on kid. I don't think you should let your hatred of all things Tory spill over to the scientific/medical experts, Mr Horden. There are some pretty clever people working their bollocks off to beat this disease. Shall we give them just a little bit of support and credit.
By all means hammer the government as much as you like but do you have to tar everybody with the same brush?
I'd like to think you are fairer than that.

The Boro mayor is calling for regionalisation of lock-down rules which makes good sense given the high R rate in the north east.
Having an overall standard for England is plain daft as we (the regions) are all at different stages of the pandemic.
This makes the Welsh and Scots look very smart in what they have done.

Hartlepool council are not part opening schools on 1 June as was suggested nationally.
In my view this is the right thing to do and we as a town/ region need to move in light of local circumstances.
What's a few more weeks in the scope of a lifetime........0.07211%

for me its total common sense to treat each region on its merits. some places have hardly had the virus and treating every area the same has no sense to it whatsoever.
