We have a big back garden on a couple of levels and was down last week cutting the grass. The dog had disappeared so I whistled him and he appeared with an hens egg in his mouth. Placed it gently on the ground and I put it to one side on the bench. Now the garden is surrounded by a seven foot high wooden fence with no gaps so I was wondering where he got it from. Next day he brings two eggs over the course of the day, perfectly intact, and it’s becoming a regular event and a puzzle. Unless he’s dug a tunnel (which is what he was bred for rabbits, rats, foxes etc) he must be getting them delivered.
Any ideas? sctatchinghead

Certainly is a mystery.

I wonder who will be the first to crack it.

Hens can fly and the neighbour is wondering where his eggs have gone.
On the downside poultry are a notorious vector for novel viruses.

Well any creature that ends up in our garden is sadly marked for elimination, but yours’ must be the only explanation. There are apparently a couple of comfortable of young yoghurt knitters several gardens up who are trying to emulate the ‘Good Life’ and according to my grass they’ve bought chickens but not clipped their wings.
Wonder if they’re keeping pigs....?

Maybe the last surviving pair of breeding dodo's are located in Hartlepool?
