Agree broadly. Fucking clocks going back and forwards. Always want to put them back when they go forwards and vice versa just to be awkward. Them and Fergie time does my head in. Has anyone else noticed how matches now seem to have the clock put back at the end longer than previously? Usually when Pools are winning.

that fergie time thing seems to get longer and longer every season. you,d think match officials were paid for the minutes on the pitch nowadays. expect sports report any season now to be put back a hour to accomodate this.

The UK trialled permanent summer time some time in the late 60s, then without consulting the public in any shape or form, they reinstated the change of hour.

"The trial was the subject of a House of Commons debate on 2 December 1970 when, on a free vote, the House of Commons voted by 366 to 81 votes to end the experiment." - Apparently based on some very shaky statistics on road casualties.

Because of course that's the only single solitary bloody thing the change of hour affects. And what were the 200 missing MPs doing during the vote? Abstaining maybe? Couldn't be arsed maybe?
We don't elect MPs so that they abstain or can't be arsed.
