Try Martin Lewis for advice on private car parks but I think you have had it unless you can appeal to theirsence of fair play.

Sense of fair play?.....You could discuss it with them till the cows come home, but you’d probably be better discussing it with cows till they came home.

No point, camera controlled I’m told.

Only one way to sort this. In the long term.stop using the marina. Make all of the businesses suffer. Let them sort out how their customers are being fleeced. And then send a parcel bomb to the office of the firm running the car park cameras.

Still have my parking ticket (Unpaid) in my wallet from the Marina in March 2015. Received loads of letters from various debt collecting companies, think they must sell the debt on, even got a letter from solicitors going by the name of Wright Hassel. I didn't contact anyone or respond to anything just ignored the lot. Close to five years now, not heard anything for quite sometime so maybe they've given up. End of the day it's your choice

a few seconds may be pedantic from their and your points of view, but if you are over your time then you are over your time no matter how petty it seams.

Northwest Parking Management are members of the British Parking Association who have a code of practice - section 13.4 says that they should generally be a grace period - which say should be ten minutes.
I got a PCN recently from them when my paid for ticket still had 17 mins left on it - I appealed and the PCN it was cancelled but I as given no apology or how it occurred.
I have complained to the British Parking Association - because this company are rip off merchants.
I would suggest you appeal and complain to the BPA.

Technically i wasnt over my time really the time was taking from when i entered the marina and when i left the marina !

it takes a lot longer than 54 seconds to park your car and walk over and get a ticket, it should be taken from when i bought a ticket surely

You do realise that having this attitude makes you part of the problem?

People should just stop parking in this car park. The parking firm in question would soon pull out of managing it.

The turnover of businesses on the Marina is massive being an infrequent visitor to the Town makes it’s hard to keep up with what was there from one time to the next. Surely this parking situation isn’t helping. Could the council step in and either make it free or just about free? The place needs all the help it can get? I really don’t see who franchising the car park out to a company achieves from anyone’s point of view the only people benefitting from this arrangement is this opportunist parking firm, it’s illogical. You’d have thought the landowners and the council want the area to be as vibrant as possible?

think the original posters situation is different from the majority of places we all go to. you put your money in a machine for X amount of time. unless you have an emergency when you are away from your car i just cannot see whats wrong with putting say 50p extra in the machine so you can relax. too many think things should be ignored just because they payed something in the first place. its always those nasty parking companies at fault and never their own attitudes. yes, i have over stayed and got a ticket in the past. i paid up and make sure it does not happen again.

Ignore it. It’s actually an invoice not a fine. They won’t take you to court because they run the risk of spending £100 that they might not get back.
