Not a realistic target for us if what the Fylde chairman is saying is to believed that the reason for the request in wanting to play at a ‘much’ higher level and he’s had his ‘head turned’ by his agent.

He’ll probably end up at another bankrolled plastic outfit like Salford or Fleetwood.

They have turned down £180,000 in the past but from what I can see he’s in the final year (the option year) of the contract he signed in 2017 so it might not take a massive fee, but do we have the cash for any sort of fee? I can’t see this at all beyond the link with the manager.

What sort of journalism is this?! from the Fail in conversation with DaveC.....

“I had the best goalscorer at this level yet to date he’s not gone to a Football League club, why is that?” Challinor questioned following Tuesday night’s win over Eastleigh.

“What are they looking for? If somebody scored 160 goals in five seasons and a Football League club is not taking them then I’m thinking why that is and maybe I need to do something a little bit different.”

Shirley the question is

Dave, do you want to sign Danny Rowe? Quickly followed by, Dave are you trying to sign Danny Rowe?

I can't believe the manager of a non league team is saying if a league club doesn't want a striker who has scored 160 goals in non league, then I don't want him either.

Five things we don't know about postage stamps.

I read that article 4 or 5 times and the 2nd paragraph doesnt read right to me, am wondering if something has been misquoted possibly? Is he suggesting Rowe needs to do something different or the League clubs looking at him?

Listening to his interview on tees I think its aimed at Rowe having to change his game to attract a league club.

Not the move expected, I had no expectation of him joining Pools.

Oldham are struggling, so Rowe must be the answer? I’d have expected him to go to a club with more Kudos or cash.

Fylde are gonna need a striker to replace him given Challinors not there anymore could Toure be a thought? Hooefully not.

He’s a home bird from what I’ve read over the years, so he was probably likely to remain in the North West hence my predictions where he’d go obviously neither of those two were interested. Apparently Ipswich matched Oldhams bid and he chose to speak to Oldham which says a lot.

I think Fylde will be relegated this season.

I think at this level we tend to forget all players are not on mega bucks wages. If I lived in the North West and had equal offers from Ipswich and Oldham I’d have took the Oldham offer simply on practical terms. At his age with a family and the cost of moving down to Ipswich would be considerable at this level. Pure monetary practicalities of living sometimes have more relevance than the chance of ‘glory’.

he,ll probably not need to move house either. finding somewhere you actually like living is not that easy. ipswich is nearly as bad as norwich, miles from anywhere. his only problem is that he,s used to playing with a winning side {apart from this season} and is he the type to play and do something in a struggling one.
