Bournemouth away in the 80s

I keep hearing stories of an away game at Bournemouth in the 70s or 80s which had only 1 pools fan present. Does anyone know if this is true ?

Is this a record for a pools away game ?

Assuming it was mid week

The story also goes he hitch hiked there and got offered a lift home off the team coach.

Is this an urban myth or did this actually happen ?

Yes but there's nothing wrong with that nowadays.

If somebody on the internet says there was only one Poolie and he got a lift home on the team bus which had 40 new hospitals on the back seat I'm happy to believe it.

Whatever was said, in whatever context, I'm happy with it. How many Poolies there were and whether any of the hospitals will ever exist doesn't matter at all. The important thing is to just fucking crack on regardless.
