Ingredients for success;-

A manager who can identify players who while looking busy, achieve fuck all, eg Donaldson
The ability to read a game and possibly a book, know when to row Z it and don`t dick about in your own box.
Do not play hoof ball to a midget forward.
Spend some time on set pieces in training.
Spend time working out what the players do when they get in the box, they run out of ideas!
Have a man coming in on the back post at corners, you CANNOT get power when running backwards!
Have a left back who can defend.
Don`t change a winning team, leave the impact player on the bench until 70 minutes.
Get rid of players taking a wage if they have no part to play in the rest of the games, I like Williams but enough is enough, 5 weeks since hamstrung and still not back , unless we getting fed a line!

Shelton didn’t feature in the FA Trophy at Harrogate I reckon he has something in his body that doesn’t agree with 3g he was the only change from the previous game. It’s one of the very good and valid reasons why these pitches should be banned from professional football. The manager mentioned before the trophy game that a player was discounted from starting due to the surface he’s the one who has started neither game.

Pure guesswork on my part I was suppose Hamilton did start and score at a Harrogate first time then made an immediate impact on Saturday. It’s not that one change that made us lose surely it’s probably the same frailties we have had all season.

Monkeybutts post could be reduced to a simple sentence, most of the players are not good enough. How many would get in a decent team in our league? I am not saying they are poor players but just average at best.

I think we have some very decent players we have recently played a team near the top of the League above and came out on top over two games and have played 3 and won 3 so far against the top two in our division. We are not far off it’s a couple of key signings away from clicking for me.

I think we could get out of this league by being relegated.

Yeah I remember saying those two should have gone in the summer and getting shouted at a bit because I don’t see enough games.

Both are perfectly decent footballers but I think both are happy to just pick up wages for being perfectly decent and tidy footballers which is part of our issue. We need a couple of senior players who along with the manager can help change the mentality in the dressing room. The captain of Pools shouldn’t be having a pop back at Pools fans after we have been hammered by Harrogate he should be calling out the players around him and looking at himself.

Weak goalkeeper, poor left back, mediocre central defenders,average midfielders,hit and miss forwards. Yes there is the odd good result but a lot of poor ones.
They say the table doesn’t lie well last season were were average and where did we end, mid table. This season where are we mid table.

Am I wrong but I believe we have won one game against the top seven teams in our league.

Well what is it. My reckoning, Barrow - lost.Bromley - lost. Harrogate - lost. Solihull - lost. Woking - lost. Stockport - lost. Yeovil - won.

We beat Barrow away 1-0.

Well one out of seven wrong not bad. Still a very poor showing against top teams. That is how you gauge a side. Cup ties give a false impression you get shocks etc every season.

Lads we can go round in circles, yesterday we were outplayed by a good team who had more skill and determination than ourselves how ever we can learn from this reality and move forward.

Spend the budget on around 17 players with better quality and use the loan system a lot better than we have in the past.

I wasn't even mad with yesterday's result. I've just accepted Harrogate are our bogey team and we'll never get a result there after the trophy game. Got to think that awful pitch they have plays a part in it.

I really doubt we'll go down considering Chorley and Ebbsfleet seemed glued to the bottom.

players are so inconsistant but i imagine there are plenty of other fans who expected sod all from yesterdays game. next couple of home games are so important especially for some players who challinor might be losing patiance with.

I'm not belittling the present day Harrogate, but imagine being told ten or even five years ago that we'd soon be struggling against teams of Harrogate's standing.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe they are a propped-up team like Fleetwood or many others that are now playing way higher than our level.

It’s all about money. You get what you pay for. Let’s be honest we were lucky to have IOR backing us up and making it possible to pay good wages.
Fleetwood, Harrogate etc have a sugar daddy. Look at what happened to the likes of Rushden when their backer pulled out.
It’s the same at all levels Northern League to Premiership. It helps of course to have a good manager.

Chorley and Ebbsfleet for me seem already doomed. The other two places are still open but I doubt we'll end up there.

What pissed me off again is that the players and Management say, "these games, will make or break our season".

Give your heads a shake, we are not getting relegated this season. Yesterday we were outplayed by a team who has basically built a team to score goals at home on a plaggy pitch. They are something like the highest scorers in the division and are 7th.. Little midgets in midfield with a good first touch like whippets pressing and winning the ball back in midfield. Coupled with the fact we were shocking at the back in the second half and that's what you get. It will be interesting how far Harrogate get if they ever do go up and and have to dig up that plastic pitch, not sure if even their sugar daddy has enough money to buy another first 11 decent on grass pitches, Salford have found it hard enough with Neville et al.
