Anyone else is less than keen on Christmas? Just a load of artificially created marketing crap to me.

Have a good un!

It's nice for the kids, an excuse to make a pig of meself, but apart from that I'm kind of gruntled by it all.

I'm 50/50

Hate opening presents I know ..
a. won't fit
b. don't like
c. will have to fuck about returning
d. putting a fake smile on pretending I love them all
e. saying merry Xmas to some fucker I loath.

But I like eating all the food and drinking loads of alcohol and getting excited about the boxing day match so all in all I guess I can just about put up with it.

A very merry Christmas to all Poolies. Might have had disagreements over the time gone by but no hard feelings and really wish things are well with you all. Can't get Strong Arm down here so have one for me.

Hartleblue, just start buying things you want and giving them to people saying "give me that for Christmas." Then you don't get any rubbish presents.

I have already resorted to doing that but it does dilute the surprise!

If that's how you see it, I take it you’ll also be giving professional footy a wide berth.....? It ‘s for the kids, you miserable Canute.

Not difficult to spot the difference between you and a ray of sunshine on Xmas Day.

I can recommend the Costa del sol for this time of year.... Sunny hot and little of the vile commercial shite you get in the UK.
Have a merry Christmas everyone!

A hilarious and staggering thread on many levels especially the fella escaping ‘vile’ commercialism on the Costa Del Sol

Christmas is the best time of the year because it’s about the people most important to you. Family, real friends and kids.

If you hold some of the views expressed here I have sympathy for you.

Mr PJ,

1) Christmas is not the big thing in Spain. The festival of Kings (5/6 Jan) aka 12th night is the real deal

2) there are not millions of tourists at Christmas

commercial really, really isn't the word

just putting the record straight like

Not Christmas but tourism I would say is quite commercial on the Costa Del Sol pretty much more than anywhere on Earth. I’m not knocking it I like Spain just chuckling at the irony.

Christmas is what ever you want it to be at the end of the day if you are using words like vile you need to have a look at yourself in my opinion, a whole new level of miserable!
