I see a lot of clubs and leagues are doing a team of the decade as the 2010’s only has just over a week remaining. I’m not sure ours would be great to be honest. Two relegations and not a single top half finish!! The 2010’s can piss right off!

More than a bit harsh putting Flinders in the worst team. A very decent keeper who played well at a decent level for us, his best seasons were in League One for us. Yes he had some trots of bad form but we have had far worse than Scott Flinders.

Fair play for having a crack but that best team isn’t great for me and has a few loan players. Duckworth was always quite over rated I thought, Peter Kioso is a better player. If you are including loan players you should include Luke Williams and Jack Barmby, Jordan Hugill and Aaron Thisobla?

Anyway after taking your perfectly reasonable effort apart I should have a go but I’m banning loans. The most points we have ‘amassed’ in a season in the decade is 59, last season. Grim.

Carson

Kioso, Collins, Baldwin, Horwood

Liddle, Murray, Walker

Thomas, Amond, Monkhouse

2010 - 2019 really was the decade when loan signings came alive.

We've had some decent, some pointless, and some absolute shite.

I've hated the last 10 pools years.

It’s a fair point that all the regular keepers have been decent enough but Adam Bartlett was the worst of the decade for me, out of his depth. He was ok filling in for the odd game but when Carson got long term injured in the season we went out of the League it didn’t take long for teams to cotton on that he was a weak link and a big contribution to how things unfolded. On the pitch anyway the absolute conmen allowed to own us were far worse custodians than any goalkeeper.

I think it says a lot that very few of the players in either mine or PJ's teams were around for more than 18 months. Nearly all of those that were at the club more than 18 months made more appearances for the club in the previous decade and were very much on the decline from 2010 onwards. If we really thought about what Sweeney, Collins and Monkhouse did from 2010 onwards I'm not sure they'd deserve their places in team of the decade. If you were to picked the 11 players with the most appearances according to ITMC, you'd get this:

Flinders
Austin Harrison Collins Hartley
Sweeney Featherstone Woods
Franks James Monkhouse

That team is fairly shit.

That is one dull, depressing team. I imagine the most excitement it would create would be if Monkhouse dropped an elbow or a stamp.

To be fair all of those players had decent spells for us, usually in their first couple of seasons.

Harrison was actually not a liablity when he first signed, I'm surr he won POTY.

The weakest link in that side for me is Woods. Never had a consistent run of form lasting more than 2 or 3 games. All the others did, most of it in the 3rd tier.

Agree totally, made it all the more baffling why the usual social media morons were up in arms and ready to commit suicide when he left.

No spot for Nathan Luscombe in the worst team of the decade? His attitude alone should earn him a place.

We're excluding loanees and we only ever had him on loan from Ladbrokes and the Kebab van.

I honestly can't get excited to remind myself of the players we've had over the past 10 years. I had to think who Harrison was for a second...wish I hadn't remembered!
Worst manager is comfortably Craig Harrison, I felt sorry for him as he was clearly out of his depth and having players brought in behind his back.

Good grief that is a depressing fact and two relegations.

Yeah Jones was a disaster an arrogant prick who thought the the club was below him, Harrison had a difficult job the club was a total mess off the field and at least him came across as a very decent bloke.

Jones deserves to remembered as our worst manager ever never mind of the decade.

Ah, you fuckers had to go and remind me of Jones. In my defence, was Jones really a manager?

Wonder if that Echo 'journalist' is still batting his eyelids at Dave Jones?! Most embarrassing thing I've seen at Pools that talk in. Detectives indeed.

Adam Jackson, was a centre back on loan from Boro. I think he went to a Yorkshire team after us, perhaps Barnsley?

It was Adam Jackson. Went to Barnsley then followed Paul Heckingbottom to Hibernian. Still there but not getting a regular game.

The last time we finished in the top half, Tony Blair was PM, Beyonce & Shakira were top of the charts with 'Beautiful Liar' and Spiderman 3 was top of the box office.

We've had some very good players during the last decade but not a very successful team.
The turmoil off the pitch has had a bigger effect than the skill on it.

Football is a game of opinions and can be seen from these views differ widely. I would like just to point out the goalkeeping, Flinders and Loach seamed to divide supporters but look at their records, both won player of the year and Flinders I believe has a record of most clean sheets in a season. Flinders has now played over 500 games and recently signed an extended contract at Cheltenham.Loach is nearing 400 you can’t be that bad to play that many games.
Whilst Jake Kean had an excellent spell at Pools since leaving Pools he has been to eleven clubs (mostly loans) and never been able to hold down a place.

Flinders was no Dimi but then he was no Budtz or Lee-Barratt either. He did a decent job for us at the highest level we played at. Never got the hate for him.

Burgess is a real shock omission. The more I think about Adam Jackson, the more I remember how desperate we were to sign him permanently but think we all knew it wouldn't happen.

We haven't half had some dross over this last decade.

I’m not sure loan players are included.

I have just been made to feel better about our decade by seeing Paddy McLaughlin named in York’s team
