The only people who have been duped are the people who fell for the corbyn/ momentum alliance.

After reality sets in please put aside the momentum rhetoric and look at Boris’s record as mayor. You’ll find that he is very centre ground and not the extreme right winger that momentum have claimed.

I expect things for the poorer of society to get a lot better.

All Labour had to do was appoint a half decent leader, not let Abbott speak and not come up with policies that tipped the scales of believe-ability and they could have been in power last election let alone this one. They blew it. Missed an open goal.

I hope so because that would make Hartlepool a marginal. Marginals get attention and investment.

So it’s looking like, and I stand to be corrected, we will have another 5 years of a PM who has lied and connived all his very privileged life. A PM who has had only 3 jobs yet sacked from 2 of them for lying. A PM who doesn’t even know how many children he has. A PM who is an utter coward and avoided all scrutiny in case he was found out. To cap it all he’s a mark 2 Trump fucking buffoon, yet according to some of his supporters, he’s a likeable buffoon. God help us all

The only good to come from this is Johnson now has nowhere to hide and if he really is as moderate as some claim he is going to get hammered by the ERG. So let's see how good he really is.

The country has got the Prime Minister it deserves I’m glad I don’t live in it. I imagine he’ll stop saying get Brexit done now.

Someone like Andy Burnham for me, I know he has a decent job but Labour need someone who is a normal relatable person. One of those would be refreshing in politics.

Labour have to totally reset, rip it up and start again. They have been crushed by the most inept and diabolical government ever which is staggering really. The irony is Farage and his ridiculous party have probably saved Labour from a bigger defeat as you’d imagine the Tories would have won seats like Hartlepool without them.

Possibly but if they were bothered enough by Brexit to vote for them I doubt they would have voted Labour without the Brexit Party alternative I’d imagine they’d have fell for the horse shit about getting Brexit done or at least enough of them would have.

Face up to it. This election was basically a second referendum and still they cocked up with their muddled option.

You said nobody cared about Brexit yesterday!

Everyone saw it coming you still have back what you think is best for the country. Corbyn was leader going into the election nothing anyone could do about that but I have said from the start I was no fan of his and he should not be leader of the Labour Party. To lose so heavily to this appalling government means he got to go down as the worst opposition leader of all time.

I’m not sure what someone’s eyebrows have to do with anything. He was in the leadership race when Corbyn got it and everything I have seen of him seems relatable and decent.

and rightly so, Labour offered that and it’s been rejected. I doubt think anyone has any stomach for that time to move forward.

The people have made their bed, time to lie in it. I have my popcorn out watching Johnson deliver on ‘getting Brexit done’ it sounds so straightforward!!!

OH well the good people of hartlepool n Horden seen sense.
Shame on the majority of the nation.
The rich will get richer while homelessness will continue to surge.
NHS waiting times will get longer.
Minimum wage will stay lower for longer.
Council tax will continue to rise way above, inflation.
Pension age will continue to rise working the nation to early deaths so we can't enjoy our retirement.
Country will end up with even more immigrants resulting in more crime n drug related offences.

Really do feel sorry for our younger generation who will have a bleak future.

No doubt Jacko the king of copy n paste will disagree with me like he always does.

What this whole debale has shown yet again is that we get a huge tory majority government when they only got 43.6% percent of the vote, which is actually just 29% of the population registered to vote. So less than 3 in 10 people voted tory yet they get a stinking majority. Thats democracy for you.

and unless I missed one or two it seems Hartlepool has in the region of 50% more knuckledraggers than any other constituency in the whole of the UK. Maybe we should be thankful though because if any of them had a working brain we could have got a tory MP.

Yes. Now he has to get brexit done. I take a small crumb of comfort knowing I can now get out the popcorn and watch how he does it. Without upsetting his true leaders the ERG. I know the firm I work for wanted a tory victory so they will be happy and as most of our business is in London I should be happy too. Another crumb of comfort for me.

The majority of London, the North east, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and South Wales voted Labour. The only places left with any morals. The likes of Yorkshire and the Midlands can suck on whats coming their way.

Two years ago Teresa May went to the country in order to get a working majority and managed to create a hung parliament! Today's result shows what a useless leader she was and how important it is to have the right person at the helm.
Labour must learn that lesson and find the right leader to replace JC. However that may be easier said than done in view of the left wing makeup of the party members.

The right leader? I think you will find all it takes is someone that can fool the gullible. The clever thing is they knew there were plenty of gullible to fool. Is that their leader though or the organ grinder in the background? One Dominic Cummings?

Another good to come from this is that the tories have destroyed the far right by acting like they are the far right. But at least we should now never have to suffer Farage ever again.

agree with you. the problem is that we had a vote on PR back in 2011. it was well and truly thrown out what with a small turnout and a plan that hardly anyone understood in the first place. we cseem stuck with the present system which has certainly created similar results before.

How does returning a Labour MP benefit Hartlepool ?

Turning that question on its head what do you think getting a tory would have done? The tories have gained dozens of new seats and they dont have a cash cow to give every seat. The tories will look after the seats they have that they think they can hold when the next day of reckoning comes. That wouldnt be Hartlepool.

WFR.
We all know politics is a numbers game and politicians are as thick as thieves so for logic thinking you are better argueing our case from within rather from the outside now that might for some be morally wrong how ever in politics there is never any love lost.

When you look around he country mainly down trodden areas, towns like ourselves allways seem to have a Labour MP maybe that tells you what you need to know about politics.

In two sentences (that really should be 4 or 5 but meh) you've managed to say absolutely nothing. I honestly feel the only change this registered with me was the time it took to read and the inevitable march towards death.

Thanks for the input, whatever it was.

Farage is who I am blaming. He was interviewed by Andrew Neil last night at about 10:30 and that man is an utter c**t. He said he was unhappy with the deal Boris had and would not give his approval to it but would rather see that deal go through than have a referendum on a deal. He then said he was just happy because he had managed to sabotage Labour and Lib Dems. So basically he was happy to fuck them over to achieve a brexit deal that he does not like because he craves brexit that much. I wish working class people would stop thinking he is somehow their friend because he is not PC and drinks pints in pubs, he is a narcissistic rich Tory at heart who only cares about himself.

The general gullibility of the British people is just astounding. The Tories and the billionaire owned news corporations have implemented the most successful smear campaign in their history. They have vilified a man who has fought for peace, equality, human rights and general fair treatment of working class people. They painted him as a racist and instead we have elected an openly racist, pompous arsehole who represents a party that has since 2010 has closed 70 hospitals, implemented austerity beyond anyone's imagination, massively increased hospital waiting lists and times, given us a broken education system, tripled tuition fees, children unable to eat and a 1000% increase in food bank use. Its alright though because he will get brexit done, crashing out with a shit deal and then just by magic anyone who is not white will just magically vanish, millions of jobs will be created and america will be our friend. Another 5 years of shite and not anyone but ourselves to blame.
