Most people dont care? You sure about that? It seems to me most people only care about Brexit. To the detriment of everything else. And can you show me who has been toxic on this thread apart from yet again Derwent. Most of this thread had been a level headed debate. By sensible people giving sensible views. The fact that a lot appear to be anti tory shouldnt surprise you coming from Hartlepool.

The issue is too many care about Brexit and seemingly nothing else.

Derwent I think the fat man had a great point vote for your mp not the leader. Who are you going to vote for out of interest? I live in a massive Tory area and I have to say the local transport etc are great, I wonder why? Then I look back home and to relatives homes in Manchester and it’s shocking. The Tory bubble is focused on the south and I have heard people locally saying we need to get out of the EU. But go ten miles from my village and you are in Cambridge the biggest metropolitan and diverse university city in the country. The research in science is already and going to be hit hard for a few years loosing EU funding. It baffles me like in Hartlepool how turkeys can vote for Christmas and cut the hand of money away from their local area. Let’s be honest Cambridge uni and the other research hubs will always get funding but I very much doubt the NE and Cornwall etc will. Let’s just prop up the food banks.

I too think Mr Fatmans point about voting for the candidate over the party is an extremely valid one, which is why I answered it. But voting for the party is also valid and it has to be considered. I have considered both options and decided not to vote labour because of the bigger picture. Corbyn will have far more influence in how the country is governed, should labour get power, than Caroline will. I don't like the labour party's left wing agenda and no matter how much I rate Caroline, and believe me I rate her very highly, her voice will just be drowned out.
How will I vote.
That is the most difficult question and I have answered it many times over, despite the accusations that I don't answer questions.
Putting meat on it.
The tory party have been in power for nine years and their performance has been well diagnosed on here and we all know it ad nauseam. I have never voted tory in my life, in any election. My village nearly always sends a tory to Donny council. I have been here since 1978 and not once have I supported any of them.
One of my best friends, who has now passed away, was the tory councillor for my village.
When he first got involved everybody said "ah you'll be voting tory now" I said no I won't and didn't. We didn't fall out but it wasn't the same. I suppose I could have lied and said of course I'll vote for you but I didn't. So i've rejected the individual before because of the party.
So it's no thanks Boris.
So where does that leave me?
It's no thanks Nigel.
Lib dem.........waste of a vote.
Spoil the paper..........don't sit comfortable with that.
Abstain...........logical answer but it goes against my principle of people should vote and I am proud of the fact that I have never missed voting and I turn 75 on Sunday. No I'm not hinting!!!
That leaves The Yorkshire Party or the Greens.
Maybe one of the last two will pull me out of the mire.
On Hartlepool. All the parties want Poolies to vote for them but what has any of them done for the Town.
Why have I bothered to answer you in great detail?
It's because, unlike others, you asked who I was voting for instead of accusing me of automatically being a tory just because I refuse to endorse Corbyn et al.
Thanks for your interest.

Mr Valiant. Repeating something is not adding to it.
If you consider me to be spouting nonsense just ignore it.
I'm talking to the more intelligent of the community so my comments are not really aimed at you.
Message to PJ..................you can now add tory bigot to the list.

Correction, we have been invaded by a far more sinister bunch than the French as you will find out if your marxist friends get to power.

I thought you’d try something like that. It’s called picking at random, it came out, y’know like the lottery. Obviously you wanted the North Korean lottery where the numbers are drawn out then you are allowed to choose your numbers to suit .....you?
Basically you just wanted a post to suit your agenda.
Sorry to disappoint.

Mr watching from afar is a classic example of shooting the messenger in the hope of distracting people from the message.
In fairness he's not on his own.
It is a classic communist ploy which was prevailent in communist bloc countries.
Funny how most of them have rejected Russia and her bully boy tactics for democracy.
In fairness those communists said they were communists and didn't hide behind the good name of labour.

It is interesting that people are complaining about this thread and aren't comfortable with it.
There is a surefire way to kill all free social media.
Vote the communists in and they'll cure it for you.
They'll also cure all the communist criticising press and television.
See what they do with open criticism of them.

All I can do is write it, I don't control your ability to read it but I'm glad you've caught up.
As i said to Mr valiant, my mistake was assuming you're intelligent. I'll try and make allowances in future.

Oh I think we can all see the open critisism you have laid out to most of us. The problem you have is that nobody is affected by it. Come on now do you really think calling me a communist hurts? Or a marxist or any of the other myriad of names you have come out with in your many longwinded rambles?

As usual you totally miss the point.
I'm not trying to hurt you at all but now you've tried to identify open criticism as a means of hurting people you are obviously using it to hurt me, using you logic. Although I don't think for one minute you were thinking logically you have nevertheless stumbled upon it.
So I can tell you I'm not hurt either.
Calling you marxist or communist are purely descriptive of your views, which you are perfectly entitled to have as I am perfectly entitled to have my views.

It is your judgement that comes into question. You judge that I am a tory which I'm not and you appear to judge a corbyn led government to be the best bet to sort out the country's woes. In 2010 you chose lib dem and you definitely got that wrong but you haven't learned a thing since. If I were you I wouldn't even vote cos you're obviously too accident prone in the judgement stakes.

Calling someone a Marxist or a communist because they want to stop Boris Johnson isn’t a description of anyone’s views it’s absolutely absurd.

If ‘no one’s affected’, what’s all the wind and fury about then??
There’s a bit more to it than that.

Corbin must be gonna win. Came home from the beach with Milo and got three of his treats out to reward him. He sat for the first one and instead of eating it attempted to hide it. The second one, his favourite go the same treatment under the TV, closely followed by the third.
This lads taking no chances, his survival instinct is kicking in.l

Well not long to go now until we find out how big a majority the scrutiny dodger wins by and whether Hartlepool makes itself the ultimate national embarrassment by voting in a racist party MP. The first one will be embarrassing enough for the North but not sure even I can cope with the second. As long as we get brexit done by tomorrow night all is good yeh?

Not sure what the weather is like where you all are but here in Manchester its been torrential rain since noon. Must affect the numbers that bother to vote. Not sure who benefits from a poor turnout.

He told me, the little terror spelt it out in rats corpses he’s also saving for a rainy day. Told me the pound will nose dive like a Stuka with a shagged out air brake if Corbin gets in. How a Lakeland ratter has a comprehensive knowledge of air brakes is a complete mystery to me. sctatchinghead

If calling someone a marxist or communist isn't abusive, why did you put neoliberal on your list of terms of abuse you've been subjected to? Neoliberalism is simply a political and economic viewpoint.

It was a serious question, no malice intended. It's up to you how you respond. But I really can't see how that was a 'tempter' (as you describe it) directed at me, given that it was Horden who brought up neoliberalism. Ho hum.

That Tory election broadcast, the LOVE ACTUALLY rip off.

Funny and quite innovative for them, unfortunately nothing funny about their policies. What ruined it though. was the setting at the end, some London Mews street where houses cost around 3million, If they had any sense they would've had it in a terraced street in one of those northern towns where they hope to get those 9 seats. fookin clueless

If your polling station is in a school, and you vote Tory, you might as well shit on a child's desk on the way out.

Our MP sent one of his letters out about improving schools. But, all the comprehensives bar one, which was modernised, have been completely rebuilt in the past four years.
