Loved watching his chat shows. But the thing that immediately came to mind, when I just heard he has died at 80, was his show closer Margarita Pracatan. :laugh:

Yeah I used to enjoy all of his shows a very funny and talented bloke.

I can’t believe it’s about 20 years since he’s been on TV regularly.

Wasn't he used to advertise a steak restaurant on Church Street in the late 90s early 2000s ish? Think it was in the old Tap & Spile pub.

He's probably the bloke who introduced the vast majority of the British public to the mental Japanese game shows, that was always a very funny programme to watch

Funny, but smart and clever and was unmissable for me. One of my comedy heroes.

He was much more than a broadcaster. His writing was phenomenal; he had a critical eye that was second to none.

I remember he interviewed Barbara Cartland and describing her hideous makeup as looking like the white cliffs of Dover after two crows had flown into them. He then described Arnold Schwarzenegger in his body building days as having muscles that looked like walnuts in a condom. Genius.
