Where in the country have people seen pineapple rings for sale in chippys?

A couple of my friends say they have never heard of this delicacy before.

They've been around for ages. I used to get them as a kid 40+ years ago at the chippy at the old Billingham station.

Well why don't you take it "there" because the way I see it you have either seen pineapple rings or not but i will bow to your superior thoughts on the subject. FFS.

Tried this at a chip shop in Glasgow that also had deep fried apple, bananas, cauliflower and other odds and ends, must have been about twenty options all available to order. It was like a tartan tribute to Japanese tempura lined up in the glass bit of the counter but the only way you could tell which was which was a cocktail stick with a label stuck in them all. Made me a bit suspicious because it should have been easy enough to spot the banana.
