Please please do not allow this multi millionaire chancer to be the MP for this proud town. He will provide nothing, he will do nothing and he couldn’t give a toss about the town, just being parachuted in because of an opportunity. Has he bought a house in the town, where’s he going to live while he campaigns and can he name the Pools team that played at Cardiff. For Gods sake don’t do it.

The working class love a toff, their ‘betters’, if you will

I don’t know why we’ve bothered building up a social framework for healthcare over the past seventy odd years, to see it be pissed away and those who need it the most helping facilitating it

Still, nee more wogs or poles, and we can all enjoy eternal summer sunsets, drink pop from the Alpine van and drink water from a fucking hosepipe, eh?

What's happened to uncle Ken?
Thought he was official Brexit party Hartlepool candidate?
Could it be he refused to pay mandatory £100 fee to Farage ?

Here’s a quote from him, he’s obviously done his homework,

Mr Tice said: “I am delighted to be standing here in Hartlepool and can’t wait to use my knowledge and experience, gained over years running successful businesses and this party, to fight for the interests of this city.

Once Tice, three times a cretin.

Proper man of the people this fella, and I’m certain he has great knowledge of our Town. You what this is the first you’ve heard of it you say?

Loads of gullible morons will vote for him though.

It’s self interest Brexit is that for the wealthiest people, but somehow they have brainwashed some of the poorest, most vulnerable and most Gammon areas that they have all been somehow wronged. They probably have been at some point but the very same arseholes serving this shite like Brexit is the most important thing in the World are at the route of it all.

It’s staggering realty.

Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party chairman, Richard Tice, is facing calls to “urgently” address concerns about his family’s links to offshore tax havens, after an investigation by openDemocracy today reveals that two offshore firms own large shareholdings in his family’s business.

The Brexit Party MEP has also been urged to stand down from the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, which oversees EU tax policy, until the matter is fully investigated.

Tice, a co-founder of Arron Banks’s Leave.EU, says he has no knowledge of who runs two offshore companies that have held shares for over 25 years in his family business, Sunley Family Limited, and which now own a combined 42% stake. Tice denies any financial interests in the offshore companies

I no longer work in the town and my and my family future wont be decided by who is the mp here. Hence why part of me hopes everyone gets exactly what they deserve should they be stupid enough to vote for this idiot.

Membership of the EU has not done a great deal for Hartlepool but splitting the leave vote will ensure that 'it is more of he same' for years to come.
The Lib Dems and Greens have agreed to work together to maximise the remain vote so the leave parties should do the same. Failure to do so could lead to another hung parliament that achieves nothing.

Sad part is the town has decent people who are too young to vote or too poor to get out. I understand the sentiment though, if these people are so steadfast let them have it but don't give them an inch when they come crying in 5 years time.

I agree hence why it's a small part of me hopes for it. Reality is I hope enough people are sensible enough to do the right thing and not be duped by thinking brexit matters at all. It doesn't. It's just a ridiculous smokescreen that will only benefit those already well off.

Seriously? The North East as a whole has benefited from ERDF and ESF projects over the decades. No uk government has ever got close to a region policy since the early 80s, and you can bet the Tories will not replace EU regional funding post Brexit. Add to that the direct inward investment (Nissan etc) that wouldn't have come but for our membership of the single market.

Have a read of this:

https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk/2019/03/there-ll-be-uprising-hartlepool-life-brexit-town-no-deal-sight

And this quote from it should hopefully make you see how wrong you are:

"Leaving without a deal would be worst for the north east than anywhere else in the UK, according to a report by the Confederation of British Industry, shrinking its economy by 10.5 per cent in 15 years. The Newcastle Chronicle calculated in 2016 that the region receives twice as much EU funding per head (£187 since 2007) than the national average in England of £82. And local MPs have warned that the area would be hit hardest if Britain stops trading with the EU, with 58 per cent of goods exports sold in EU countries."

And if you google European funding and Hartlepool it throws up loads of links to ERDF and ESF funded projects. HBC, for instance, advertised a £2.7 million ESF programme in the summer.

Well said Fatman these are the facts that need to be publicised not the bluster and bullshit that comes out of the gobs of our current government leaders.

Channel 4 News ran a feature on Tice and Hartlepool recently but stated that Hartlepool had always voted Labour. This was clearly incorrect. The town has had 3 Tory MP's, the last one being Commander Kerans, 1959-64.
Will Channel 4 News correct the error? I doubt it.

I thought Nigel Farage would step in but Tice surprises me. They’ve pbviously calculated that Hartlepool is their best bet.

Yeah cause not getting the fact we had a Tory MP sixty odd years ago is the big issue affecting things right now

I’d rather they concentrated on the doctoring of Kier Starmers interview or not releasing how the Tory party are funded by the Russian dollar

And so it begins. The brexit party launch in Hartlepool and then declare they will conTest less than half the available seats. To try and help the tories. So thick gammons vote for them to ensure they get a tory government. If you made that senario into a drama you would be laughed out of Hollywood. And then farage announces he wont repay those that paid money to stand in said seats. Has there ever been a more blatant charlaton ever? You have to be on the epic scale of dense to fall for this fella.

I'm half inclined to jump on the "town will get what it deserves" bus. I do still have most of my family living there, but to be honest, I don't see one MP or another making much difference to their lives. I can't remember a local MP making any difference to mine.

I do however fear for the town's image. It already took a hit with the monkey mayor (that's not a reflection on Stuart BTW but on the monkey headlines). Do people really want the first reaction when meeting people on their travels to be "Ah yes, Hartlepool: Vive le Brexit!"
Come to think of it I'm probably flattering Brexit Party voters by imagining they even travel.

Here’s a good one.

Farage lives in a Conservative constituency therefore can’t even vote for his own party. Not standing, won’t be voting for them. But if you text #Iamagulliblemug to 86256 you can give him £100.

You after laugh.

Are they seriously suggesting that Tynemouth is one of the 'forgotten northern coastal towns' that the Brexit Party and London based media love?

Last time I was there it was a very nice, mostly middle class commuter zone full of professionals who work in Newcastle. The constituency does include North Shields which has its share of deprived areas but it also covers Whitley Bay and Cullercoats which are basically made up of inter-war semis and some very pricy bigger and older houses near the sea.

He can't have been paying much attention when he passed through before heading down under.
