Burnley boss Sean Dyche has revealed "prominent managers" have warned him he is hurting his career by continuing to provide vociferous opposition to diving.

Good on him, cheats need outing, banning and flogging.

Seems like a good guy Dyche and glad he made the statement.

He does a good job at Burnley but his style of play is probably hurting his career more than this nonsense that to be honest sounds like bullshit!

I like Dyche, always good entertainment value and is spot on here.

Which manager or person is speaking in favour of diving? They have people sat in a room in an industrial estate disallowing goals for next to nothing now so nobody is getting a penalty for diving in the Premier League. They give them for absolutely nothing anyway, the two Manchester United were given at Norwich were absurd.

It’s what he does and is quite clever, Dyche is a good man manager and motivator and his whole mantra is building a siege mentality and a belief in his dressing room that they are somehow defying the odds and the World is against them. It’s all about that, no other managers have spoken to him about speaking out about diving he’s using it for his advantage. The footballers in his squad are no different to others he’s also planting a seed with referees that they are. These blokes know small margins make a difference most things they say have an agenda and aren’t to be taken literally.

rather listen to him than most other premier league blokes. done a miracle keeping a small town club where they are. watfords mistake was burnleys gain big time.

Graham Potter got one at Brighton and is doing very well, Wilder's record is incredible he'll surely get a shot at a really big job? He took over in League One and now they are 6th in the Premier League that after working miracles at Northampton amid financial chaos. It's brilliant to actually see a bloke work his way up like he has he started managing at Alfreton Town in 2001 and took other non league jobs at Halifax and Oxford (who he got back in the League). I think he's a Sheffield United fan as well.

The one that springs to mind for me was a game at Orient in the late 90s, we were 1-0 down and also 9v11 as Howard and Di Lella had received their marching orders.... a long ball is pumped up field, Midgely chases it into the box, Linesman and ref are a million miles away, he leaps like Usain Bolt tripping over a brick, penalty (which he nets) and 9v10 for the rest of the game!
