Votes please.

Personally I'll go for Barry Watling - a nose in front of Kevin Poole.

Trivia: surely Kevin Poole is the only player to have won promotion with Pools having played a massive part in that event and never having been on the losing side. I was surprised to learn that he only ever played 12 games, those being the last 12 of the promotion season back in 90/91.

I remember Steve Harper being on loan from Newcastle for a few months in the late 1990's as a young keeper when no-one had heard of him.

I told our kid he would play for England one day as he was the best keeper I had seen play for the Pools.

In the end I have probably lost that bet although he did come pretty close and is probably the best I have seen.

In terms of permanent signings then either Dimi or Barry Watling (who I remember being the best penalty saver I have ever seen and who was top of some chart for most minutes in not conceding a goal which the BBC used to run in the 1970's. Not bad consdiering he was playing for Hartlepool United!).

Dimi

Albeit a short period of time Jake Kean was quality.

He did appear to be very good whilst here but his career and lack of games after suggests we may have been mistaken.

Harper best iv seen.

Kevin Poole, simply for the reason I had confidence in his ability.

Given that he he was a consistent performer playing at the highest level we've been at it has to be Dimi for me.

How many times can you remember him dropping a clanger?

We've had some very good loan keepers for short spells, but over the amount of fames he played definitely Dimi.

Steve Harper was a class above and probably would have got a cap for England if he wasn't so comfortable staying at Newcastle as givens no2. Hes probably the best in my time but Poole and hodge hold good memories for me too. Martin Hollund was the worst keeper I've seen coming for crosses,he flapped at everything.

Used to hate it when he had the ball at his feet too, you just knew he was going to try another Cruyff turn and get caught for the umpteenth time.

Les Green but Barry Watling and Steve Harper were class acts. The worst and fattest...Brian Horne.

Kenny Simpkins was fatter but was still a welsh international and not a bad keeper

I'd have to say Dimi, he was so consistently good... and of course there was the Pools World Commentator who always insisted on calling him "Demitrios" as presumably he couldn't pronounce his surname!

Always had a bit of a soft spot for Brian Horne, how many Pools Goalies have ended up with a song in their honour?
