Don't want to have a bet, just want to see who the bookies think are in the running. Personally, I think Sweeney is nailed on!!

The bookies at our sort of level have no idea, they probably just copy and paste the list from last time and add on the now out of work managers (maybe delete Peter Beardsley bbolt ) if a tenner goes on someone they probably come in to odds on. You’d be better off knocking up a list yourself.

I was gutted I couldn’t bet on Dave Jones when I knew as they didn’t have him on list then had a min bet after rumour got out

Good point but I like a laugh. According to FB, Richie Barker and Neil Redfearn are up for interview!!

[quote="PJPoolie"]The bookies at our sort of level have no idea,
same with all the odds on a game. mind you most of us are pushed to name an opposition player or know where places like boreham wood are without looking at a map and we watch the game at this level. might no 5 out of work ex boro players though.

Oh great. Neither have had a sniff of success as full-time managers. Unless you count Redfearn's spell with Doncaster Belles!

If he disposes of Brackley and then gets at lest a point against Barnet Sweens will surely be installed in the warm and slightly moist seat. Better the low-budget devil you know, as top non-league pundit Kylie Minogue once said.

Spot on. I loved Richie Barker as a player but his win rate as a manager is only about 33%.

I always remember Barker getting Bury promoted with a load of wins on the bounce and forget he lost basically every game since as a manager. Probably not worth the gamble.

There's quite a few had initial momentum as caretaker manager and not been able to sustain it after they get the job full-time. Matty Bates and Solskjaer being recent examples!

That won't stop me hoping Tony Sweeney makes a brilliant start and gets the job - other than Steve Watson or Ian Evatt, don't fancy any of the other names that are being touted.
