Didn't see that coming at all. Wonder if it's a result based decision or something else ..

Probably because we lost to a pub team and the manager has the tactical know how of a Chorizo sausage.

Nothing like Raj's itchy trigger finger, 5 permanent managers and one caretaker in 2 and half seasons with us.
For what its worth, I actually thought you played well second half last night and should have nicked a point.

I'm disappointed because I'm tired of sacking managers. But Raj was there last night, in fact Raj goes everywhere, his Roller was at Dagenham when I was there.

I was surprised by Hignett releasing the financial information the other day, and then after last nights frustrating performance, I said to her in doors. Raj is spending a lot of money and can't be getting a lot of enjoyment back from this sort of display. The fans deserve a winning team, but perhaps more so, Raj deserves a winning team.

Wound me up when Jim Gannon was telling the TV people about how his boys had been at work during the day, we didn't compete with another team of part timers on TV AGAIN!

Smell the coffee man, it is not inconsistency, it is the fact he doesn`t have a strategy/plan/tactics pick one that suits.

Picking Luke James to lead your line gives an indication.

Hignett said before we were going all out for promotion. Results haven't been terrible but they've hardly justified the number of players brought in.
Next manager will have a lot of pressure on them as I can't see Raj throwing money at a non league club indefinitely.
Sol Campbell anyone?

strange decision - if Killip wasn't so dodgy earlier in the season we'd be further up the table - and we've had some good results against the better sides in this league

Campbell did well and wouldnt be a bad shout, after what happened up here recently though he's prob gunna run a mile, i have a feeling some fans would hate him instantly and not be a fan of his confident tone.

I want a pound for everytime someone says get moore back.

Thinking about it, Hignett looked a picture of dejection every time the camera went to him up in the stands in the second half. Maybe Raj thinks we need a manager who'll stay on the good side of refs however shite they are.

Am surprised, was starting to have a few doubts but id have given him chance to get Molyneaux back and allow us to play the formation and system etc that he wanted to play all along.

Must have been a very tough decision from Raj but shows that he means business, thats for sure.

Good luck Craig and thank you.

It can't be on the basis of last night's performance so Raj must have been thinking for a while that changes might need to be made. Does he have a track record of fast appointments or are we in for a few weeks of speculation? Will Sweens be in charge or someone like Raynes as player/coach?

I thought Higgy was here for the long term to give the club some stability. This league is shit with no one really showing consistency with crazy results every week.
I am waiting for the real reason to come out but i am being naive there i think.
The replacement better be good.
Good luck Craig and Ged.

Every time the camera showed Higgy last night I was thinking how much he'll be in demand for Santa's Grotto soon. Plenty of free time now.

Sorry to see him go but the inconsistency is killing our chances, particularly with other teams on such good runs. Having loads of talent in the dressing room is not the same as having it evidenced on the pitch.

The team are just coasting along. There’s no urgency and no apparent plan, just a meander through the season. Inevitable really.

Think it was a bit early for him to get sacked, unless it was for other reasons off the pitch. Realistically we are only 4 points from the playoffs with a shit tonne of games left to play. We needed stability this season which sadly we aren't going to get. The usual postage stamp fans on twitter and wanking themselves silly over the news.

I was shocked but not really surprised. I haven't been this season so can't say anything about performances but based purely on results they have been disappointing. Just no consistency. That said, IF we'd had Molyneux fit (as well as Williams but that will never happen) I reckon we'd have won a few games more based on last season form.

I can't say I am happy about it really because I always enjoyed watching a Higgy team. Pretty much nailed on entertainment. It is a shame his style of play doesn't suit this division. There is clearly a formula to follow to get results week in week out but Higgy didn't find it. Bruisers must be the way forward.

Hignett said some fans have the knowledge of a postage stamp, then went on to offer virtually everyone a contract from last years failures. His retained list killed us from the off. A manager that knows a good central defender and can organise, will have this team turned around in no time.

I reckon the opposite would be true, Sol usually runs straight at controversy and seems to love proving people wrong.

Steve Watson has done well with two teams now and if he'd be willing to leave the team top of the league below then he'd be my first choice. What he did with Gateshead, in difficult circumstances, was remarkable.

Results have been nowhere near good enough but I didn’t see this coming it’s the type of sacking that makes you think we have someone lined up.

I feel for Hignett a bit as if Money hadn’t talked him into receiving the poisoned chalice he might still be in employment.

One day we will stop sacking managers every five minutes.

31 managers (inc caretakers) in 23 years according to Nick Loughlin... Shocking figure that.

Surely Sweeney played a part in picking the team though, so do we get the same dross?

I suppose if he picks James, Richardson and Featherstone on Saturday we`ll know!

I,d have given him till Xmas but if we were still in even mid table then time to go. Whoever gets appointed will have to start from scratch again so we might as well forget about promotion, play offs or anything else it looks like a survival season yet again. banghead

I was starting to wonder if we were getting to like it in this division and happy to just bumble along, win here, win there, no consistency.
There’s a squad there that needs tightening up to achieve what it could be capable of instead a country club gentlemen’s eleven.
