At the end of one of the recent mail articles on Pools there was an advert for Flybe .com for flights to Torquay from Newcastle for £36.99 each way surely this would be cheaper than the coach and the cost of the hotel also a lot less time. I believe Portsmouth did this successfully the last time they played Pools. It is worth considering when they play Yeovil and maybe chartering the plane and selling the rest of the seats to supporters.

I remember when we chartered a plane to Plymouth in the early 90’s with spaces available for fans.

It’s probably more expensive because the bus would still have to travel with the kit and to pick them up from Exeter Airport get then to a hotel for food then to the ground, especially when you consider that players will be sharing a room and you are paying a plane ticket each.

I was more thinking if they had hired a plane as per the bargain prices then filled it with fans they could have done the return journey on the Saturday as did Portsmouth and met the coach and kit at Exeter and would be less tiring before another away fixture on Tuesday.

The bargain prices aren't for every seat and Flybe don't usually fly every day on most routes so the team might be there for a week.

Could put the starting 11 in a glider to be towed like in "the longest day" and landed on the beach.

Yes, sadly they have.

But Shotton Colliery International is still open for business...
