I was there the other day and the only polo shirts they had were size S.
Felt sorry for the woman working there having to explain.
Whats the issue here?

Maybe simply sold more than expected.

Of every home shirt, keepers, no away keepers even delivered yet, got a few small and medium away or 5-6 year, like the Bullseye losers quip, `Look what you could of had`!

They sold out last year, so with a new supplier and design, there must be sales records to work off and then incremental increase, anywho we have a decent squad so let`s focus on that today and a win bbolt

Considering profit margins for replica kit it's hard to excuse not having enough stock. Whether it's Pools fault or O'Neills or more likely the media gadgie hopefully it gets sorted quickly.

Manchester United’s superstore is well stocked, why don’t you get him a shirt from there? Please do.

They sold a record amount of shirts at the open day (commercial success) then tried to order more and got a smaller delivery last week and are awaiting another, they explained that.

You might have worked in retail before but you have no fucking idea about running a lower league football club, not the fucking foggiest you odious twat. I hope they bar you out as you aren’t a supporter of the club.

Listen maggot, how is not being able to run a lower league anything to do with anything, so a commercial success is selling out of all your stock and then having nothing for weeks after, remove your head from the camels arse before you think, if indeed you do.
I don`t support the club eh, I pay my money at home games, go to away games and buy merchandise, well I would but hey!
Does PJ stand for patronising jackass?

You go, but you aren’t a ‘supporter’ not a real one, and never will be.

They haven’t had ‘nothing’ in the club shop for ‘weeks’ that is an outright lie, they just didn’t have the size available that you wanted today they said last week after receiving an order of stock that they are awaiting a bigger one soon. A supporter of a lower football club would understand that the club shop isn’t Manchester United’s superstore and hope the new suppliers are more reliable than the old ones.

Again you are right, a true supporter wouldn`t work all day and get his mate to pick him up from Darlington to travel to Halifax and then drop him off at Darlington at nearly midnight to drive home, because I have a valid point about several issues which have been consistent through 2 seasons, it makes me not a proper supporter.

Giving up my free time for 2 years as a trust board member doesn`t make me a proper supporter either but at least I cared enough to get off my arse and do something to help, yes I`m an arse but hey we can`t all be perfect eh!

Predictable. After the build up we see a pretty poor performance and then we suffer the return of His Lord High Majesty, Knower of Everything, PJ.

Odious? He's not a true supporter? When were you last in the shop?

PJ you are an embarrassment.

Now I'll not defend Mr Butt's sense of humour - some is cringe-worthy, some is hilarious - but his point about the shop is pretty valid.

I spent £3 at Pools today. It could have been over £300 if the shop had been stocked - and the bars had been more efficient. And, funnily enough, before the game I was in conversation with some folk and we were talking about the shop and someone said, "I expect that Monkey will be chomping his gums" and someone replied "Aye, and Professor PJ will immediately jump to defend Maguire and will slag Monkey off".

You know sometimes other folk - and I include Butt in this - may be right.

And, I've said it before, don't reply PJ because I'll not bother looking at the Bunker for days - I, like many others, have tired to waking to read your early morning sermons.

So when the club fails, and the Trust doesn't have enough cash to save it, we can think back to when a true fan such as poolieboydave stopped his subscription because someone bored him.

FFS, I hated Coxall but I still put money into the club - as did many others. Grow up Dave and rejoin the Trust.

This club shoots itself in the foot commercially continually , same old things. I emailed Mark Maguire almost 3 weeks ago and as yet recieved no reply on the subject of replica shirts and the ridiculous sizing & lack of stock. I had hoped that under Mr Maguires leadership our commercial side of the club would stop haermoraging money ie lack of programmes for home freindlies etc.

Before anybody starts calling me out I worked in retail for almost 15 years working my way up from shopfloor to General Manager for various big retailers. Even without retail experience having launched a new strip having all sizes available throughout the season is pretty obvious? I have no idea how O'Neills have sized the shirts but they are absolutely tiny, I myself am an XL but always buy XXL to avoid the sausage skin look. I tried 3 XL wouldn't even pull down, the next week a 5xl was in stock. I asked Mark Maguire why the club won't take my money? Surely the kit supplier sends in what we ask for? We surely must know how many shirts we sold last year on the open day and first weeks of the season? Thats £76 for home & away shirts that the clubs missing from me because they have no stock. Simple economics or common sense tells me that the time to sell shirts in the first half of the season, especially the first home games? Last season we blamed BLK when perhaps its the club not the kit supplier at all ?Supply seems worse now having been in the shop the last 3 Saturdays and leaving empty handed.

Having called in the shop today there was very little in there, worse than the paast 2 weeks? As well as shirts where is the O'Neill team wear that the players are wearing? Like me I would imagine if you have the money today and go to buy a shirt, by they get the sizes in I may not have the money and have spent it on something else? Apparently bigger sizes will be in up to 7xl in the next couple of weeks. Its a poor show all round? Can't see any reason why we haven't enough shirts? When Nike were our supplier we had little difficulty with the supply of shirts or training gear.? There seems no means to forward order or click & collect off the website?

I had no beef with the poster who launched the diatribe at me there by the way until one point last season when he announced he was passing through Doha on a Tuesday, I naively and absolutely went to the trouble of sending him a message to say I was out for a beer that night and he was more than welcome to join us, it was a 100% genuine offer, but it turned out he did it just to childishly insult me (c u next Tuesday ha ha mega lol!!) This is the level of arsehole we are actually dealing with here. I was prepared to meet up with him (in real life) 3,500 miles away from home as it was a ‘poolie’ I. transit whoever he was. It speaks volumes really.

Monkeybutt might be an idiot I fully agree with you on that but he does have a point about the commercial side of the club IMO. The queues for food and beers haven't improved under maguire.

Mr indoor to you and I'm a damn site more intelligent than I'm given credit for and I have skills but a rather strange sense of humour and outlook on life!
At least I'm not PJ.

I agree that he does have a point in some context, but you can go a right way and wrong way about expressing it.

If you pop in the Lounge before kick off you can pre order half time pints that are sat waiting for you at the half time, that is available for anyone sat in the the Cyril Knowles and makes a shit load more than cold water.

The club shop moving into Clarence Road seems a good decision to me, an operation on Pools sort of level will always have one or two issues with stock as it’s a fine balancing act.

I bet you the contents of your bank that they make more profit on a bottle of water than a pint of beer, but don't let facts get in the way!

It is disappointing that the club shop has hardly any sizes in for the first game. The only defence I can attempt to make on that is that I feel like everywhere I’ve been the last few weeks I’ve seen loads of people in the new shirts. So maybe they have just sold a lot more than expected.

Tried to get a pint at half time but gave up I assume with many others. Can’t be easy to serve 600 people in 15 minutes though.

They will also 100% make more profit on beer than water because they sell 10 times more beer.

Ps. The beer (trophy) in the centenary lounge was rank before the game.

So a pint of beer costs 2.40 to buy and sells at 3.00, water costs 20p a bottle and sells at 1.50 but 100% you think beer makes more profit, leave it with you!

What he meant is they make more money from beer sales which they will about a thousand fold, who the fuck buys bottled water at the match apart from you?

How many people are stood at the match thinking ‘I could murder a bottle of water but I’m not getting one because I bet they aren’t cold enough, they need to get those fridges in earlier!?’

Retail outlets make a greater gross profit on water/soft drinks than beer/alcohol.
I used to work in the trade of peddling alcohol.

I brought a bottle of chilled water with me to the game as 1.it was cold 2.it cost about 15p to buy in bulk packs.3.No queues.
I also brought sweets and a cereal bar.

My wife and daughter both bought a bottle of water at half-time yesterday. I've just asked the missus what it was like. Her answer was "alright".
I had a coffee. I'll have another one, when the need arises.
We had cheese and onion sandwiches (home made) and chips from Seaton, parked on the prom looking out to sea.
We nearly had to forego the chips as, once again, the battle with the A1 took over an hour more than it should.
Can't remember the last time I had a half time pint.

Okay. I clearly said we will sell 10 times more beer than water. By your example if we sold 10 bottles of water there would be £13 profit. If we sold 100 pints of beer there would be £60 profit. £60 is more than £13.

So yes I do think beer makes more profit so stop the patronising tone please.

Cheers

I disagree Phil. Butt and PJ have differing views, which gives a balance to most debates. Differing views are healthy.
