Dominoy ‘something’ - Noble

I thought featherstone had a very good game also, in fact everyone played well. We dismantled a league two side this afternoon. Could easily have had a couple more plus a missed pelanty

Impressed with us, you can never read too much into pre season but it’s the biggest, quickest, strongest Pools squad I have seen. It should have been 3-0 at half time then we scored three second half.

Macclesfield looked like a pub team in comparison, a couple of players looked out of shape, a kit with no sponsor or numbers on the back.

Extremely comfortable today, Macclesfield offered nothing. Could be a decent bet to be relegated.

The 10/3 on them being relegated is far too big, They were dross. Looked like team off the rec with no numbers, what looked like training tops they have no money and were poor opposition. As I've said elsewhere a Possibles v Probables would have been more beneficial than that today. But overall ((2nd half at York the exception) i'm pleased with the pre season

Great interview:

Difficult not to be excited listening to that even if we have heard all the rhetoric in pre season before. NSD.

I'm quietly confident. Got 33-1 to be champions, 16-1 to be promoted and 4-1 to finish in the top 7, which is my saver.
A bit of luck, not too many injuries or suspensions and a decent squad will give us a sporting chance.
Bring it on.

Agree Bob, I thought it highly unprofessional for Macclesfield to turn up minus a numbered kit? How was the ref meant to run the game. If thats his team Sol Campbell wont last long, look like relegation candidates. We weren't even at our best today, definately could be more clinical, if we took our chances easily 7-0 today. Good work out but not a very glamorous game, should have played York today instead of a mid weak game. Crowd was poor & no wonder, would have cost us to put todays game on once stewarding etc was considered.

I've had a little bet on promotion at 16-1 too, but I wouldn't say I'm even "quietly confident" just yet. Pools have got a better balanced squad than at the start of last season and a much better manager, so I'm confident we'll finish higher than 16th.

Trouble is, till we start playing them we don't know how strong the better National League sides are going to be. We should have a good idea by the end of September!

I don't hate Sol because it's cool, I just find him laughable because of the things he says. Was a very good defender but plays the victim when he doesn't get the management job he wants. Fair play to him for starting at the bottom though.
