Mike Atherton last week said that he wouldn’t have included any of the World Cup winners in the squad and would have just given them two weeks off, 7 runs between 5 of them suggests he may have had a point!

Nothing to see in the end unless you want to start talking about the overall standard of Test batting when the ball does a bit.

Why has Lords become a shit wicket though? The World Cup Final as magnificent as it was was contested on similar track, that was probably a leveler in Ireland’s favour if England had of bowled first I reckon you have been looking at Ireland making less than 50 twice.
