Good luck to him and thanks. Seems a good pro and wish him well. Hopefully can find an equally decent gk and save some money in the proess to spend elsewhere.

Aynsley Pears son of Stephen, Boro keeper been on loan at Darlington , and spent last season at Gateshes.there's a reasonable guess

Thank you Scott for all your efforts and saving us many times over. However do not feel you ever reached your full potential as a young player called into England squad less than 8years and a lot of clubs later playing at non league level for the last two years, where did it all go wrong.

If Scott is reading these messages I imagine him reading that one and starting in quite a chipper mood then by the end reaching for nearest cyanide capsule and whiskey bottle. Why!!! Where did it go wrong  Maybe he was just elevated to a level and overrated a little as a young player. He strikes me as a good pro and someone who trains hard and works on his game.

He’s a very good keeper at National League level reading comments from some over the season you’d think he was rubbish which surprised me. I remember watching the Barnet game that was on TV and reading people on forums after the game blaming him for the second goal which was a brilliant whipped cross glanced in by the forward. The commutators didn’t even mention Loach they just praised the cross which was whipped at pace he couldn’t have come out. It highlights that we do have hyper critical element of our support who make they mind up about a player and look for any excuse to hammer them and at times. Similarly the absurd ‘wind goal’ at Fylde. Yes coming for crosses and commanding his area are the weakest areas of his game, but if they weren’t he would be playing in the National League he’d have remained at Championship standard or higher. That’s not being defeatist or showing a lack of ambition it’s just realism.

On the face of it, it seems good business from Hignett. I heard that Loach was the highest earner in the squad last season, so it makes sense to offer reduced terms whilst looking elsewhere if he stayed great if he didn’t we have someone lined up. But I hope the new lad is given a chance and allowed him a couple of mistakes which he will inevitably make as a 23 year old keeper, and realise he might not be the finished article yet but I like what a read and some of the clips I have seen he looks very promising.

This. imo goalkeeper is the main position where you often find players who are either massivley overrated or underrated. Often never getting a chance higher up which they deserve or on the other side often having far too many games at a higher level than they should be.

Imagine he will go to a League 1 club as back up to begin with or straight into a League 2 side. If were saving a few quid to spend elsewhere with Killip then it all sounds good business to me.

I make no comment on keepers, I have no idea what I'm talking about. I thought Scott Flinders was abysmal yet he players football league and has just signed another two year contract.
