Talk about take the biscuit the rubbish this man writes in the Fail is a disgrace. He rehashes old news time and time again and now has the audacity to nominate his best and worse players of the season, I nominate him as the poorest Pools reporter of all time. While the club continually say positivity and back the team which supporters have done. All this supposed reporter does is winge and be negative, the editor should tell him to stay away from the club if he can not be more accurate with his articles.

Sorry, but this is mildly bonkers. The biggest problem with football reporters for local newspapers up and down the country is that they are afraid to breathe a word of criticism about the club they cover in case their reporting facilities are withdrawn. Nick Loughlin, who is actually a Poolie, still hasn't lived down his tickle belly phase with Coxall and probably never will.

Kennedy isn't a Pools fan, covering the team is only a job, but he's seen enough games to be allowed to have some opinions. Saying that Andrew Davies' short spell at the Vic was a major let down is the truth isn't it? It's also old news and not a criticism of Hignett. Where else is he wingeing and negative about Pools? Endlessly repetitive yes, but this is the silly season for club news, as 9 posts on a Bunker thread called 'pitch update' should tell you!

I think disgrace is probably a bit harsh to be honest, I've been critical of him in the past but the guy can only do so much really. I'm 99.9% certain he only does the "FIVE THINGS" stories to wind us up after we spotted it.

The capitals made it even harsher imo.

I agree - a mate of mine worked for the Mail some years back and he readily admitted making up stories when there was nothing happening at Pools - so at least there is some integrity in Kennedy regurgitating the same old stuff over and over. And who actually bothers with the Mail anymore - on paper or on line?

I make stuff up all the time but don't put it in papers, although I probably have more football knowledge than him, although the offside rule always fuddles me!

Nor should he. He was a disgrace to his profession during that episode. Not only did he get his belly tickled, he rolled over and purred. He refused to question anything that the club did or claimed to do in the face of direct evidence, none of it collected by him, and publically slagged off those who had uncovered the wrongdoing.

He even had the gall to lay all of the evidence out in an article, after the event mind you, and claim it as an exclusive. He is one of the main reasons that Coxberg got away with it for so long.

The man is a reporter not a journalist. He is not fit to be named in the same breath as those who have gone before him.

I’ll take Liam Kennedy before Nick Loughlin on any day of the week.

Does he still deny the questions were cherry picked?

It really is about time we moved on from that awful time. I am not sure what is being gained from dragging it up at every opportunity, egos and point scoring will never be as big or as important as the club.

If it was brought up everyday it would be annoying. But once or twice a year I’m happy with

No it isn’t time to move on. That disgraceful episode should be remembered.
We survived, just, but it should stand as a warning, not locked away as some embarrassing incident to be covered up and forgotten.

I would never move on from the crooks who actually caused it but at the end of the day all of the events that people are sniping at each other about happened long after the damage was done. No fan or newspaper could have done anything to stop it. The talk in was when Dave Jones was appointed when Sage were on the scene, we were already in deep shit financially.

It won’t do any good moving forward what’s done is done, the most important thing is we lived to fight another day.

That’s a bit like saying ”Look Adolf, you we’re bang out of order with millions killed and causing grief and desolation around the world, but hey, no point in chuntering on about it, what’s done is done, at least we survived.”

I was at that talk in - and walked out as it was insulting beyond belief. Tickle Belly understates it.

I'm with Mr I and Snowy on this one - and haven't paid for a Northern Echo since.

Well no it’s not really unless you are comparing a Pools fan to Hitler. Coxberg nearly destroyed our club, not a newspaper or a fans group. It’s like blaming the German people for Hitler.

Coxall was present at the talk in when Dave Jones was appointed - it was meet the new manager and the chairman for a question and answer session. I wrote at the time that I had handed my questions to Nick Loughlin , the same procedure for the Ronnie Moore talk in, and had seen Coxall reading my questions before the event began. Coxall downed drinks pretty quickly, looking very agitated, not expecting to be screened from the audience and given such an easy ride. His answers were all very vague and he frequently repeated himself.
