Fylde playing possession football with no punch. Tippy tappy slow laborious build up allowing Salford to mass ranks in front of their goal.
I wish coaches put the emphasis on scoring more than the opposition instead of having more of the play by passing across the pitch, then back again until they invariably lose the ball and are victims to the quick breakaway.
I'm not against possession football per se but a little variation wouldn't go amiss. Sometimes three quick passes are more effective than forty three.

Atmosphere must be crap, Darlo was bad enough in their big stadium but when only a 10th of the ground is full you do have to wonder why it is played at Wembley.

Good not to have them and their money to compete with next season.

I agree with that, they’d have strengthened further and ran away with it next season, best shot of them. They will end up in the Championship in the not too distant future, I can see them going straight through League Two.

Orient and salford going up certainly makes the league a little more even, they would of splashed loads of cash at it. Though do we really expect to be challenging anywhere near the top 2 or 3 next year? We would have to have some major rebuild for that.

You never know in the National League, Orient had a similar season to the one we did last year. We need to add the right elements and get the best out of the decent players we have. Our points per game under Hignett would have put us 9th over 46 games so it wouldn’t be a huge leap to the play offs. Hopefully we can have a more stable season with one manager in charge for all of it.

All of this talk of ‘worst ever season’ is a bit of a nonsense in context really where we are isn’t the fault of the people who inherited the mess, mid table was probably to be expected this year. I think we can do better next season, top seven isn’t a huge leap our form under Hignett wasn’t that far off it. We almost need the opposite of ‘major rebuild’ what the club needs massively is some stability going forward. It’s a big summer in terms of recruitment but at this level a couple of very good signings and a bit of momentum can make a difference. We need the right quality and qualities more than massive quantity.

Hope Salford City lose the interest of those rich backers and plumet like a stone back to wherever. Hopefully Franchise FC will one day go the same way. Very pleased for Leyton Orient getting back up. Wish it was Pools, but good luck you O's in Division 2 and make sure you do the double over Salford.

If Salford do go up the leagues, their backers are going to have to plough a shed load of money into that club, way more than what they have spent now.

I understand they have Millions in the bank, but with the crap support they have, can you see Salford supporters paying for seasons tickets costing £400/ £500 due to players wages.

Well that's progress for you I suppose

Peter Lim, the actually money man putting most in is worth 2.4 billion.

The rest of them are loaded and would lose a lot of face if it went tits up. Salford are unfortunately going nowhere apart from up the pyramid quickly.

Salfords season tickets were priced at just £150 last season and still struggled to get 2500.

even that would have been far too big. for fylde preston or blackpool would have been better as i imagine the majority of their paltry fan base would be ex supporters of anyway. as for salford the BBC will have a new documentary shortly as a great rags to riches story to warm our hearts.

They hardly ran away with it. There were still 3 teams in with a chance of winning the League on the last day.

Also Salford threw a load of cash at Rooney and the odd loan player but the rest of the team were no more than at their level. They were only a little better than many other teams.

Plenty of teams try to buy their way up the Pyramid but most end in disaster at some point or other.

The Division will be no easier next season, Stockport, Torquay, Yeovil and Notts County bring plenty of well supported teams.
