Here are a few suggestions all out of cotract in June :
Ben Killip Braintree England C Keeper
Dan Jones Barrow England C Left Back or Central Defender
Dan Sweeney Barnet Central Defender or Midfield
Mellish Gateshead Central Defender
Tinkler Gateshead Full Back or Midfield
Korey Henry Braintree Centre Forward
Shaq Coulhirst Barnet Striker
Any of these players could add strength to the squad for the new season.

Darlos Luke Trotman got rave reviews during the Luke James televised England C game.

Dan Jones was released by Hignett from Pools so I can’t see him being a target.

Surely the obvious left back to sign is Scott Barrow from Gateshead who we spoke to last summer. Seems to be a bit of leader and the right sort of character as well.

Yep, harsh on Gateshead but if I was Pools I would be trying to speak too Pears, Mellish, Tinkler and Barrow

Pears is contracted to Middlesbrough but I reckon the other three will be on the radar.

Dimi is out of contract at Boro so why not ask with his business interests if he would play part time with Pools surely agreat marquee signing .

Why would he need to go part time it’s not as if he’s in the kitchen knocking up gyros!

I called this one earlier in the season if he wants to have one more season or two before he retires actually playing I reckon it could appeal to him.

PJ I was thinking more from a wages point of view and while I agree he is not cooking at his restaurant that may have to take priority as his career winds down. If we got him I then beleive we could claim to have the best keeper in the league as I think Loach is only average at best.

If he was going to drop to this level it wouldn’t be for the money so he wouldn’t have to cost much and couldn’t be in competition with Loach who I was told is the top earner at the club so we couldn’t have both in a tight budget. If he was going to do it I am sure he’d want to play as he hasn’t much in recent years plus we have a keeper coach. If Loach goes maybe and that’s of course assuming Dimi isn’t planning on calling it a day.

Dimi on a player/caterer contract sounds better to me. We might need to sub him off before half time to get the kebabs on the go like.

Go to Gateshead - sign up most of them AND Ben Clark. Chase most of our shower of wotsit.

Job done. Quickly and easily.

Then there is the whole Summer to try to get the nucleus of the Gateshead squad to do a tad better than last season.

Gateshead only actually finished 7 points ahead of us to be fair and if you take our form from when Hignett took over in terms of points per game it would work out as 66 points and 9th place, exactly where and what Gateshead finished on. We should be targeting a few of the players mentioned but let’s not get carried away the team that was performing better earlier in the season had already lost the likes of Kerr and Molyneux to us and Scott Boden to Chesterfield, the one at the end was probably bottom half material.

Seen Carlisles released list earlier. Few good/experienced players released, maybe worth a look at.

Just spotted that Dan Jones signed a 2 year deal with Salford City and will be playing in League Two next season.

Good luck to him. Been a bit of a late developer but he's still only 24
