Another appalling Mail article....

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

So don't get pulled into arguments with folk who clearly have never read the HUST constitution or, for example, didn't hear Singh say that he didn't want any more money/ investment.

If you have time on your hands, why not look at the fans forums for the likes of Chester and Stockport County - there are fans on these making some very interesting comments - well, interesting if you care about Pools.

On what subject? Mark Maguire?

Agree about PJ being spot on like.
I'd recommend a more stealthy plan than googling 'afternoon tea dog'.

Give us a clue Mr Honour. I've got nowt to do until I get an email I'm waiting for so I just spent ten minutes looking at those boards and it just reminded me how shit other supporters message boards are. Is your comment a ghost of messageboards to come style warning of what happens if we stay down too long?

The takeover saved the club. The just giving money paid a mliionaires tax bill, but it created a lot of good will and publicity though so it certainly did no harm.

I know neither personally but they clearly have and have always had an agenda against the Trust. So I’m having a go at that not them. The Friends group only came about because of the anti Trust agenda at the end of the day, it was all very bizarre and they are both still at it at every opportunity.

It’s time for them and others to pack it in as it helps nobody at the end of the day especially when they clearly have or have made any effort to understand what the role of a Trust is.

I don’t do ironing and I have just had few Stella’s at the Pool in 36 degree heat, back at our 5 bedroom Villa now.[/quote]

You just can`t bring yourself to give them people credit can you??
Same as you had a agenda against the friends group!!!
Or is that ok because its you?
And regarding some millionaires tax bill... What would of happened if they never paid it then??
And are you saying the Friends group didnt do any good for the club??
You really do have a agenda dont you..

You act like a big baby sometimes....

Enjoy your stella son!!!

But surely calling somebody a big baby is well out of order...!!!

Isn't it????

If PJ is a fat bald gadgie wrapped in a towel after his swim he might take it personally and think you are spying on him!!!

Then he'd think you had an agenda....

I have gave them credit in that post if you read it. I think the just giving campaign raised a lot of publicity and goodwill,I said it at the time and I have said it in this thread. You would be naive in the extreme to think it saved the club though. You can’t really dismiss the Trust on one hand for ‘only’ having £80,000 in the coffers then want statues erecting for others helping a fundraising campaign that raised, ironically, £80,000. Both are small fry in terms of what went on at Pools. It wasn’t in Blackledges interests to see the club go out of business at the end of the day, he was trying to claw back as much as he could from a terrible investment. The money raised could have bought time and it fits nicely in that fans of Pools and other clubs helped buy time whether it did or not is anybodies guess. But Raj Singh and Jeff Stelling saved the club by putting a serious amount of cash into it. I am not sure what more praise anyone else wants or why? If those after constant praise’s involvement in all of this stopped there we wouldn’t have an issue here.

I have never knocked the tent and the benches and spoke up at the time at those who did. Why would I have a go at people doing things to help improve the match day experience for fans? I’m not sure I have ever knocked the friends group to be honest apart from saying I’m not sure what they are (and still don’t) and speaking up at its inception about the very obvious agenda and reasons behind it (as a rival to the trust) was I wrong about that? I don’t think so because they same anti Trust rubbish is still coming out of the same handful of people. Shall I praise them for causing loads of shit and division over a long period?

I wasn't having a go at you. I had read your posts. I am not stupid (I have certificates to prove it but who gives a proverbial). I was actually complimenting you.

I've just finished reading the Chester Deva forum (about MM) and am now so depressed that I'll keep on paying my HUST subs and lottery but may well not renew my season ticketS at Pools. And, just to really annoy me, I might now re-read DarloUncovered about why they ended up in Administration.

Talking of creams, I had a look on the Stockport and Chester websites, they don`t rate Maguire much do they, anyhow
there are a variety of herbs that have been proven effective at eliminating parasites, they include black walnut hull, wormwood, cloves, gentian root and thyme.

Aye, those websites are really quite interesting. In fairness some folk seem to love him - the others are at the other extreme. And it is that extreme that worries me. And there are patterns. And for those folk from certain parts of County Durham, I'm not talking wallpaper................or lino. I found it fascinating that one Chester Trust member talked about MM not respecting him..........and who employed him? And the Stockport thread when he joined Pools is illuminating.

Anyway, about these creams. I understand that PJ has very soft hands and so doesn't like any 'gritty' creams.

If I was PJ I'd adopt CJ, give him the small fifth room and not bother with old Josh anymore.

could just be a case of the associate him with their clubs demise? People tend to want somebody to blame when things aren't going right.

Bit like Russ Green here towards the end, or Richie Humphreys, or Barron, or the fitness coach, or Matty Bates, Hignett etc etc.

Just Giving was done by Rachel Cartwright it had nothing to do with The Friends Group. She started it, all fans donated to it and it absolutely kept the club going long enough for the club to be bought. She had the idea and then everyone bought into it including ALL of the fans groups.

Mike stuck a hashtag on a Boro Fans campaign, fair play it was a good idea and helped raise the profile of it.

Friends Group did a Go Fund Me details can be found here https://www.gofundme.com/hartlepoolsurvivalfund

It raised £3897 but as it was after the club was bought you would have to ask their committee where the money went, it definitely didn't help save Pools though as the campaign closed after the club was bought.

Stop trying to rewrite history please and stop the petty squabbling . The whole town an football community came together to save the club.

Do you know what is so bad is fact we want best for club and two fractions want to wave their flags in the air and say we did this we did that. As a Poolie who loves the club would wish everything to go to every game like I did in my youth it really makes me sad at how people are acting. The trust is there nothing more than if we go in the shit top and bottom line. I see that as a now outsider. Remember when we all went to games for a laugh and away days for a good piss up and footy match not who has the biggest knob to wave about and clingers on to backslap. Every away game I had to put up with Pubeys shit crack and seeing mutley in what ever state he or I was in. I sound like an old man at 36 but god our club doesn’t need this.

AMEN brother...

Having a little boy coming up to two years old, I'm thinking of bleeding him in to becoming pools before the missus' family get him (she's born and bred Newcastle). I must admit the past year or so I have been thinking "Do I want him to come here?". The obvious answer is YES, but with the hostility amongst our own fans of late, I was beginning to question myself. It wont happen him becoming a barcode, and I would rather him become a Billy Elliott than that, but things seemed to be turning a corner and positivity was returning. Long may it continue and I hope this past few days blows over.

So people will retract their comments over the trust I assume?

Probs not like.

Pretty shit that the chairman has to come out n ask the fans to work together Cos some people can’t read properly or don’t want to understand how a supporters trust works.

I hope Liam Kennedy has read that maybe if he’d had took time to be journalist and tried to speak to the people involved then all of this could have been avoided. Mind you like I said in the opening post at no point does Raj have a dig at the trust, and at no point whatsoever does he say the Trust promised £250,000. That only took being able to read and having a little bit of perception. As I said at the start, an appalling article. A sensationalist headline to get hits online above doing your job properly.

It’s time everyone takes notice of the end part of the statement now especially those who were thrapping themselves daft with excitement at the prospect of the chairman having a go at the Trust. Onwards and upwards.

Before we move on I feel the need to share this hatcam update, it is too hilarious not to;

“They can crack on Tony, it bothers me not. Not my problem if they think the iPhone is the be all and end all of technology.

Half of S Korea is on the streets because of hidden digital cameras in women's toilets, the New Zealand defence attache in Washington is on trial for planting a camera in the embassy bog, the police have body cams,  dashboard cams are everywhere, but them daft not nice people cant get their heads around a bloke from associated press clipping one on his cap and live streaming a game that he's reporting on. They're still in the Sentinel in the Mail era. They know nowt about WeChat or WhatsApp or Viber at all, they'd still be sending SMS texts from the 1990's instead. Or faxes, remember them?

They're just displaying their own ignorance and they seem quite proud of it.”

Aye it’s because of our ignorance to technology that we find the notion of a bloke sat in China forming a sound opinion of players he’s never seen play because he watches matches streamed live through a hat camera, absolutely absurd   I think people are aware the technology is available to do it BUT STILL

I don’t think a member of the AP would sit there and film a full game on a live stream or FaceTime call surely ?

Wouldn’t it be annoying every time he looked down to type? You’d lose picture.

Isn’t it a copyright breach too?

Would he warn you when he was going for a piss? Even if a good friend you don’t want to see that, especially on a cold day.

Plus watching a game on a small concealed camera (he knows it’s a breach of copyright law you see he’s not stupid) on someone’s head from a stand even on one of very high quality wouldn’t be great really would it!? For a start your head doesn’t move in conjunction completely with your eyes. He should have said an iris cam rather than a hat. I remember people doing it from away games on Facebook live a few years ago and you got a sense of the atmosphere but it was like you were watching the match filmed on a potato and even when picture was perfect you got no real feel or decent view of the football.

What a huge coincidence the thread on that other board has disappeared.. Take that as holding their hands up and admitting they were wrong.

Well played lads.
Arguing with idiots is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon, it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board and flies back to its flock to claim victory.

One point of the free press is that it gives a platform to question and respond to official positions. Raj Singh gets to use the club website. In this case, the Trust only has the option to respond via its own web site, social media or through the Mail. Those are the public channels but do hope more private routes are being used. I hope this calms down. So far, he's put his hand in his pocket and I've still got some football I care about at the weekends.

Incidentally, having got through the Mail site - has ANYONE received a PPI payout?

They're still in the Sentinel in the Mail era. They know nowt about WeChat or WhatsApp or Viber at all, they'd still be sending SMS texts from the 1990's instead. Or faxes, remember them?

They're just displaying their own ignorance and they seem quite proud of it.”

Aye it’s because of our ignorance to technology that we find the notion of a bloke sat in China forming a sound opinion of players he’s never seen play because he watches matches streamed live through a hat camera, absolutely absurd   I think people are aware the technology is available to do it BUT STILL

I don't know what they put in the water over in China but since he's been there he's turned quite insane!!!!
Shame really cos I classed him as a good friend. confised

Doesn't fit the anti Trust agenda.

I'm incredibly comfortable I have no idea what other board there is. If you mean crackbook, it was all over there but all apart from a single mention was removed as if it was fake news.

What gets lost in all this trust this trust that is that the people who run the trust are infact

HARTLEPOOL UNITED FANS

Just regular dudes n women who are volunteering, in their spare time to try and help out.

These people were at Cardiff, they were at Darlo etc

Just regular people, no agendas, no bias.

And as always... if you don’t like it... join and vote them out. Or join and run against them.

Dead easy

Still, after reading compo's comment above this kind of stuff continues on both sides. Must it still be stirred with posts like this? Can't people just let it go, or is this going to go on for eternity?
