He was England’s best player in the World Cup absolutely integral to how the team play. He obviously hadn’t had the benefit of a decent coach when you said that 8 months ago when he was playing under exactly the same coaches.

Haven't heard an atmosphere like that at Wembley in ages. Exciting times.

Gareth Southgate deserves huge credit, not just for favouring younger players but for fostering an incredible team spirit. He's the first England manager who has been able to do that since the players all became millionaires.
