Have I missed something or have they disappeared without trace?

The next one was supposed to be just after Hignett took over team affairs and Money moved upstairs. As a blueprint for the future it didn't make it out of the chippy, so you can understand they probably wanted the dust to settle before trying to explain that one away.

But it's a couple of months now with no sign of another one, so is that it?

My theory is the fun has gone out of it because Higgy will be aware that certain fans are only too happy to take throwaway remarks out of context and make them a stick to beat him with. The Matty Bates "we only train 40 minutes" thing comes to mind.

They were all a bit cringe worthy.
Plenty of bullshiting and them making out that they are brilliant at their jobs and this seasons debacle being blamed on previous regimes.

I'm sure there will be anutha one at the end of the season telling us how brilliant our support is and the reasons for the price increases!

This seasons failure has been passed off as a consolidation season as promotion is the aim for next season now.
If u don't agree and think I'm being at bit harsh not a problem just reply in a civilized manner.
Come back Smithy n Horden the board needs characters like you.

I’m not sure cringeworthy is the word to be honest the chairman did inherit a mess as a result of three years of negligent ownership from people who were putting self interest above the club. I’m not sure what your expectations were of this season but most would have accepted, maybe not been excited by the prospect, mid table and a season free of financial issues which is how it’s turned out. At least we have a bit of a platform to improve next season and manager who has free reign and is being backed giving us half a chance.

Yes on the field things could have gone better and the management situation has been a little chaotic but I don’t think certainly the chairman deserves that level of cyniscsm.

As for the podcasts it was probably unlikely that one was going to follow anytime soon after the content in the last one in which we were told how huge Moneys role was going to be seen as he hasn’t been replaced. Unless everyone is too busy due to the gaping hole he has left! He didn’t want to be here at the end of the day, the club weren’t to know that he would decide that so quickly when they appointed him. I think most can accept that and move on, yes it was all a bit of a face saving exercise but what’s done is done. I’d to see the podcasts return even if it was just once a month it’s a good way to engage with fans and keep us in the loop.

Fair comments PJ.
I just don't think 3000 St holders bought into a season of consolidation especially in late September wen we took 600 fans to Salford n were 4th top.
Like I said last week just hope next season goes to plan or. We could be non league fans for a long time.

It's a poor board if everybody thinks the same way. After spending months on the brink of going out of existence last season, it's understandable that there's a lot of Pools fans who are just relieved to be able to focus on the football. I'm one of them. That said, mid-table isn't good enough, even for us glass-half-full types.

Next season is shit or bust to be honest. If Pools don't at least make the play-offs I can see us being in this league for years and years. A few weeks looking like contenders in October means nothing - we know that now. Look at Orient. They came down with us two years ago and were in a similar mess off the field. Last season they consolidated and got the non-footballing side sorted out, luckily for them. This season they've been all guns blazing from the off and are sitting top of the division in March.

That's the kind of season Pools absolutely have to have in 2019/20. The parachute payments have gone and there's talk of closing down the youth academy. The focus is 100% on getting a potential promotion-winning squad together, as it should be. You don't have to be a pessimist to know what will likely happen if it doesn't work out.

Looking at it realistically we could finish top 4 next season and not go up, I don't see it as shit or bust next season, if we become a force in this league I'd be happy, look at Macclesfield, gone up and straight back down.
Also look where Aldershot and Maidstone are, nailed on for relegation, we need to be much more thankful that we've steadied the ship this season and Raj /Jeff/Craig are doing their best to make that happen.

Oh and btw if Macclesfield do manage to stay up do you think Notts Co and Yeovil will settle for a season of consolidation next season?

The chairman’s/owners initial financial commitment was £1.6 million over three years, I don’t see next season as shit or bust either.

Progress and improvement is essential though.

To be fair I said the target was to at least make the play offs. If we do that the fans will continue to believe and so hopefully will the chairman. Trying to get out of this division is a bastad with only one automatic promotion place - Orient are top now but could finish second, lose in one of the play off games and still be playing us next season. But at least their fan know they are there or thereabouts.

Pools finishing mid-table next season would be failure, and there would be consequences.

for every leyton orient there will be a chesterfield, york or stockport who have had off field problems also and the latter two are a division lower than pools. think a lot thought we,d be straight back up or at least play offs last season before a ball was kicked. the realisation that non league football is harder than many thought has now kicked in. its going to be a long hard journey back to being a league club and an improvement next seasons league position over this can be seen as improvement and not one of promotion or nothing.

I enjoyed listening to them but couldnt trust much of what Maguire said after he reckoned the incident on the bus was just a misunderstanding over some noodles.

I imagine now Hignett is manager that he has far too much on his plate with signings, contracts, tactics, training etc to do podcasts especially since we havent replaced Money in his "vital" role.

Aye, myth-busting is a great idea till something comes up that you don't want the fans to know too much about.

I don't really want the Directors and Management sitting around bumping their gums when they should be putting all their efforts into putting the club on an even keel with the sole intention of getting Pools back in the League.

What instigated them was this obsessive demand that fans know everything about everything. You pay your money to watch a game of football. If you want more, buy a football club.

Very narrow minded kel. Pools is a huge part of the community, anyone in the town should have at least a passing interest in it being well ran. I agree that we don't need to know all the details such as Hignett's dog's name but the idea of being more transparent was designed to get fans back on board and through the turnstiles. Not only that but also rebuilding bridges with local companies/prospective partners and sponsors.

I can’t imagine doing a 45 minute podcast distracts the club from getting promoted and back on an even financial keel.

Bumping their gums is a funny way to describe keeping fans informed.

Sorry lads I can’t pay any bills I have a podcast to do.

Said no one. Ever

For years we were starved of information under ken hod, then we were treated like mugs whilst coxall and pam did what they did, now we have people in charge who wanted to keep fans informed and even have a laugh doing it

Some nerve!
