Tough game for Higgys 2nd game in charge although they have the exact same form as us in last 5 games and all 5 teams they played are currently 16th or lower in league.

Be pretty bold to go with the 4-2-3-1 away from home from the start but Molyneaux deserves to start and not sure you can get him in the team in the usual 3-4-1-2?

Guessing Kioso and Cunningham will both be fit so plenty of options.

Looking forward to it.

3-3 James, Donaldson and Kabamba.

I really hope the team bus doesn't go to Dover by mistake because of this thread.

It’s seems like we are playing against a gale force wind it could be a half to just stay in the game and take 1-0 at half time now then bag five or six second half wind assisted.

It's alarming the amount of goals we are conceding, we sign new defenders but nothing seems to improve. The midfield really needs sorting out, I can't cope with another season of Featherstone, how he's managed 200 plus games for pools is beyond belief. We have plenty of good players but mixed in with a few poor players so it's no surprise we struggle. Some serious work is still needed in the summer.

From the commenters it sounded like it was a good performance?

It may well have been a decent performance under atrocious weather conditions but the cold facts are that we have shipped 8 goals in three games. This is certainly not the mark of would-be promotion contenders next season. Higgy has always been rather gung-ho in his approach during all three of his stints at Pools - the appointment of a defensive-minded coach/assistant may be worth considering. I’ve not been impressed by Kerr as yet to be honest although I concede that it is still early days for him in a Pools shirt - and as stated elsewhere Loach certainly has his critics.

Fylde are obviously a half decent side so that needs taking into account too but the recent defensive lapses are worrying to say the least and will not have gone unnoticed by Raj who continues to back a Higgys judgement in the recent defensive signings with hard cash and cannot have been impressed with what he has witnessed.

Aye, let's write after Kerr after 3 games- obviously he was bobbins at Gateshead too, I mean look where they are in the League.

Fyldes crowd was interesting last night only 1,200 about 500 down on average which baring in mind they are with a shout of automatic promotion and we’re now in the run in is beyond piss poor.

But the bigger picture is that the club as it is only really exists because of the Oystons and is bankrolled by a disgruntled Blackpool fan. Blackpool have had have had over 23,000 through the gate in the last few days of the crowd at Fylde you wonder how many are season ticket holders who will return to Bloomfield Road next season. You can’t see Fylde being around at this sort of level in 5 years, another plastic club that have some success for a short period then disappear is my prediction.

This.
While other players are dropped to find a winning formula,he's bomb proof.
It doesn't what combination we play,he's the one constant & the midfield is awful game after game.

Disapointing to lose the 2nd half when we had that wind behind us :(

Yeah were conceding a few at the the minute but were switching to 4 at the back whilst also integrating new defenders, its going to take time but at least were scoring aswell. As others have alluded to, with 5 at the back the defensive midfielders arent as important, with 4 at the back they certainly are and sadly we dont have one who can get close to anyone to put a tackle in. The season is well over so nothing to panic about, Hignett will be trying things out with next season in mind.

Just hope we can find the Boland/Tinkler type were desperate for for next season.

Whilst I agree we are shipping goals I can’t remember the last time when we created so many chances. At Sutton I believe Kabamba had 3 good chances, Hawkes had a couple and Anderson also had a couple. Last night was pretty similar. Listening to the game we had so many scoring chances but it was always the same from the commentator ‘Hawkes charging into the box but shoots wide’ or ‘the ball is played across the face of goal but no one on the end of it’. The same with James. We are just not clinical in or around the opposition box.
Other high scoring teams may have a lumbering striker but they just seem to get on the end of things. We work our socks of but the killer instinct is not there.
