Initial bid was rejected as well so presumably we've paid a decent amount.

He's 6"4 and as Hignett said he was originally a summer target I wonder if that means a return for Raynes is unlikely?

With Kerr, Cunningham and Kioso in there and Murphy coming through, we have the nucleus of stability in central defence. Some of our other youngsters are showing potential as well, so fingers crossed.
This national league seems to be littered with big lads who can look after themselves and put themselves about. We seem to be taking notice.

Sounds like Gateshead fans all rated him and are up in arms about it.

I like the thought of Raynes and Kerr as centre backs with Kiosos pace alongside them mind.

I predicted we would sign Fraser Kerr 11 years ago.

Raynes was unlucky to pick up a bad injury so soon in his loan spell, but with all the disappointment Pools have had in recent years signing crocked players I think it might be a tough call now to offer him a deal. Depends who else is available.

Nice try, but I was told he was signing at Queen Victoria’s wedding reception, Prince Albert told me.

When Caesar landed in England and said veni, vidi, vici, Fraser Kerr was right behind him and was heard to say..... You can do yer vici I'm off to the vic.
Centurian Horden was heard to mutter.........I told Julius that six months ago.

Not sure we had much need for a 16 year old defender in league one when we had Nelson, Sam Collins and Ben Clark.

Raynes has played a lot of games for a 31 year old every player at some point gets injured it’s not really a bad injury it said 8 weeks a couple of weeks ago so he could even line up with Kerr before the seasons out.

As for the fee I read £4,000 after they turned down £2,000 it makes Sage look like Daniel Levy!!

!

We'll see in the summer. Raynes looked decent even though he only played 3 games for us, but he's not going to be the only quality centre back who's a free agent come June.

Getting Kerr in certainly doesn't improve Carl Magnay's chances of being offered a new deal!

My personal opinion is Carl Magnays ship has sailed from the dock of West Hartlepool. I think he's become a bit of a liability, what WAS that handball against Gillingham all about! I think a fresh start would do him good as well.

Magnay for me looking back at his time Pools hasn’t been very good. He’s someone who came with a decent reputation and someone who you thought should be a decent player but has never lived up to that for any sort of consistent period. A definite release for me.

and these players are not all in defence either. its took awhile for the penny to start dropping. another one for hignett to look at is jimmy ball available from stevenage. a 6ft. plus midfielder who would fit in the side.

He's had some decent games magnay but he's never stood out at any point. That 1st half at Harrogate was as bad as any performance I can remember from an individual, if he was carrying an injury he shouldn't have played. I think he needs a fresh start along with Featherstone!

No surprise this has been received so badly - it's terrible news.

They turned down Hartlepool's initial bid, which was just £2000. I gather he has been sold for around £4000.

Taking into account various clauses/expenses in his contract, Kerr was the top-earning player. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why the club's chief financial advisor agreed to the sale...

The meeting with the National League on Friday now takes on even more importance
