I know you are all dying to announce that a Poolie is representing the country in the Eurovision song contest but are too shy to do so, therefore let me do it for you.
A POOLIE IS REPRESENTING THE ENTIRE NATION IN THE FORTHCOMING EUROVISION SONG CONTEST.
Whoopee, aren't we all so immensely proud of the young fella.

Depends.

Will it be held in the Boilermakers', or the Richie's..?

I have it from a reliable fantasist that the Borough Hall is already booked and you can’t book a bed anywhere for that date next year. :wink:

Some of our former Chairman would have had the lad performing his winning entry during the half-time break in days gone by. Good luck to the lad, it would be great if he won it.

Currently being interviewed on BBC Breakfast , seems a decent enough lad, not wearing tracky bottoms or a Newcastle top , proper North East lad , used the word Nanna, rather than that southern grandma, gran, granny crap.

Well done and congratulations to the lad. I seen him on breakfast telly earlier today and he's a credit to the town. Very unassuming and genuinely excited. I wish the lad well and the best of luck in this competition. It has its detractors but there are some who did very well out of it;

Funny you should mention "Grandma". I only know two females who insisted on being referred to as "Grandma" and they were both Yakkers born in Easington Colliery. Not exactly Surrey is it? :wink: My Mother in Law, who was an out and out Northern Lass from St Helens in Lancashire, liked to be called Gran.
I don't think it matters but I understand why you would think so.
It would be wonderful if it was the only debatable problem we had in the World.

My kids grandmothers are Grandma and Granny as my two Nanas are still alive and the kids call them Nana. I’d say ‘Nan’ as popular in the South but I don’t think it’s really a thing based on area.
