but there was hardly any criticism whilst he held the post. They always seem to do a backstabby after-timing piece.

I agree its pretty much spot on though

I made quite a few of those points about Money myself - Kennedy must be a Bunker fan!

Seriously, a local journo can't tell a manager to his face that he thinks he's cocking things up, otherwise he'll get barred out. It's happened at other clubs before now.

With Money out of the pre-match and post-match interview chair he's free to get a few things off his chest - and why shouldn't he?

Get barred out! at least the fans would have some respect for them.

You are not a journalist if you are scared of being barred out for asking tough questions or writing what you think. You are an extension of the press officer.

And if your editor says you're not paid to shoot your mouth off, you're paid to cover local news and that means attending press conferences, what then? Walk down the labour exchange with your head held high?

Yes, its better than being a mouthpiece for 2 dodgy regimes.

What editor would say you aren't paid to call out contradictions in post match press conferences, or make valid points about team selection anyway?

You could copy the quotes off BBC tees or the official website.

Its not as though Money has left the club though, he is still here, though I doubt for much longer, so I imagine Kennedy knows this, otherwise its a brave and risky piece to write, basically throwing Money under a bus. You would a club to protect Money and take a dim view of this, given that officially he is still employed by the club, or maybe they are laughing their pants off, who knows.

Far better than anything the Echo has produced over the years. At least it challenges rather than cossets

To be fair, I suspect Money spends as much time reading the Hartlepool Mail as I do reading MonkeyButt's joke threads.

Why would someone who doesn’t go be remotely interested?
