Horden you suggest Hignett started well and tgen tailed off, which results wise is true.

However, it's a bit harsh to not mention the implosion behind the scenes, his no.2 leaving, several of our better players being sold from under his nose and not replaced. The rumours of late wages etc etc.

If Higgy had some stability and was allowed to keep what he had put together, we would have been nowhere near relegation.

Fair comment ! I never mentioned it, because I assumed everyone would of knew that and taken it into account. The behind the scenes shenaningans makes it difficult to completely write off Hignett completely, that is why he has soldiered on relatively unscathed , without too many people asking questions of him. He may with stability turn it around, not sure if the club has that like, I wish him well and hope he does, as I have said elsewhere, we will finally see if Hignett has what it takes.

THIS WONT END WELL, THERE MAYBE A HIGNETT BOUNCE THIS SEASON, BUT BELIEVE ME THIS BLOKE WILL TURN OUT TO BE NO BETTER THAN BATES . FFS WE GOT A GLIMPSE OF THIS LAST TIME HE WAS MANAGER. IF HE IS THAT GOOD, WHY WASNT THERE A STRING OF CLUBS QUEUING UP TO OFFER HIM A JOB BEFORE HE WORMED HIS WAY BACK INTO POOLS?.

I think I prefer you in caps. More authentic, somehow.[/quote]

I put it in caps, because I didn't know how to put the text in red , like some clever people are able to do. When I meet Mr I for my yearly performance review , I will mention this, as a training need.

It would be really good if we had a big turnout on Saturday to support the team. Many of the recent excuses trotted out may not apply to Saturday.
1. weather - warming to a barmy 8 degrees winds from SSW small chance of rain.
2. going shopping with the missus - credit cards maxed out and the female form realise that money is not a limitless commodity.
3. football will be shite - Higgy effect comes in being and players perform.
4. injuries - all players are available after Saint Craig blesses them.
5. Opposition Braintree - surely we have to beat these?Bottom, manager leaves .......ok they won 4-0 last week.
6. Hignett - makes a statement in the programme that he will not play Newton at left back.
7. Beer - pubs open before and after game with curry shops also open.

With a face like that he'd keep Freddie Mercury straight.

When Hignett got sacked in January 2017 Pools were 19th. Under Dave Jones Pools finished the season 23rd and relegated.

just the way i see it too. what was the point in sacking hignett bringing jones in. then bates, then harrison back to bates again then money. what has actually changed apart from getting lower and lower in the leagues and fans staying away. still think even with the off the field stuff going on pools would still be in the FL if hignett had stayed in the first place.

I don't.

we will never know and would we have stayed up if bates had got the job a few weeks earlier either. remember we were not exactly cut adrift even with dave bloody jones doing his worst. on the field has anything got better since hignetts sacking. teams that constantly change managers rarely succeed but at least it saves the manager of the month curse on them .
