A striker Cardiff City paid £18 million for two days ago is feared dead after the light aircraft he was in vanished over the English Channel last night. I wonder if they’ve paid the full fee?

A bit mad that an asset worth that sort of value would be travelling in a two seater plane, very sad all the same.

An person is an asset? Surely they can't be anyone's first thought?

Too soon maybe.

It is surprising that someone they had just paid that amount of money for was travelling like that though to me, you’d expect private jets and the like maybe I just took Footballers Wives too seriously.

With what?

It’s a tragedy and sad but we don’t know him or any of his family and they aren’t going to read this, I have said nothing offensive just it’s surprising he was travelling like that.

He wasnt traveling in a Wright brothers plane, it was a private jet with 2 people in it not a 2 person plane.

No it wasn't a private jet, it was a very small, prop-driven Piper Malibu, the likes of which you wouldn't expect a rich footballer to travel in. Image

You are surprised he was on a private plane? I'd be surprised if he was on easyjet, by the by, the poor sod looks like he's (and the pilot) lost his life. RIP.

If they had already paid the full fee or not they'll have insured him. Footballers are assets the same as buildings and equipment as far as the businesses that run the game are concerned.

No less tragic for his family and friends though.

Clearly PJ should be shot for his typically brutal, cold-hearted and dismissive remarks about a plane that would have been fine if it had a new elastic band in.

It’s a good job I didn’t go with my initial thoughts and somehow try and link this to Warnocks radical views about Brexit but that really was too much too soon.

I understand now my wording was wrong as it it wasn't a jet.

In my mind Jet and plane were same thing

But its still a private plane.

I used to live in Guernsey these planes are used all the time to travel short distances.

You cant aftertime a plane crash.

He was traveling on it as it is one of the safest forms of transport

Footballers called assets is what bugs me, pieces of meat, like workers , just there to be exploited. We are all just human beings, nothing more nothing less.

RIP

Partly because there are no 97 year old royals flying at 10,000 feet.

Safety didn’t even enter my head to be honest more comfort and luxury, I haven’t got a clue it could be common but I wouldn’t have expected an eighteen million pound footballer, and new signing, travelling to Cardiff from France in something you’d see at Teesside Airport flying school. Those planes are tiny. You would perhaps expect a private jet, I was watching the news last week seeing Nigel fucking Farage was batting away questions about chartering a private jet to Brussels as a comparison and he’s not worth 18p to anyone, either way it’s an awful tragedy.

Those planes are not meant to crash though, people wouldn't use them if they thought they were going to be killed, yet is appears a very unsafe way of travelling, probably because those who die in them are more than likely to be high profile people, therefore its news and people tend to remember. I imagine thousands of people, such as high flying bankers in the city
( pardon the pun) use them every day to get from France to London, without any problems.

Wow even for you PJ this is low.

You claim that your cretinous post is due to your curiousity as to why he would use this mode of transport but used the words “asset” to describe him and ask “have they paid the full fee?” - was that supposed to be funny? a man has just lost his life for Christ’s sake

Why does it matter if his family will never read this, have some bloody respect and compassion.

You seriously need to have a good look at yourself, your an absolute disgrace.

What a completely vile thing to say.

Does your company class you as an asset or a person? If you got killed in transit would the first thought in your family be the mode of transport? Would your family be wondering if you'd get paid up to date?

Disgusting.

Even if they survived the crash, at this time of year and with the speed of the currents in the channel in that area there can’t be much hope. Very sad.

I’m not in his family, so I am not emotionally affected by this, saddened as it is a tragedy. Obviously this is awful for those close to the victims, me or you or anyone on here aren’t close to the victims. I apologise for the transfer fee comment, no need for that ill judged in the circumstances The Bunker didn’t used to be like this though. It’s not really disgusting is it? Slight overreaction perhaps?

Now run along your outrage bus has turned up and a few seats are already taken.

Oh dear, all you had to do PJ was apologise, and people would of respected you for that, but no , you cant resist having a dig. I don't for one minute think you meant any harm by your comments, your last five words in the OP allude to that, your comments were ill judged and you admit to that. People do over react these days, but you would of known that before you created the post, you more than anyone should of stood back and thought, am I going to get flak for posting this. Anything a person posts relating to a death has to be handled and worded carefully, everyone knows that. You have apologised and that's good, but you even managed to take the edge of that.

I am not a celebrity, this is not is social media as such I am not apologising for talking about something on The Bunker, I did apologise for the one thing which was in poor taste in the circumstances, even that seems a bit over the top this forum used to be all about a bit of dark humor but I accept maybe that was probably ill judged. What do you want a full statement?

It’s just faux outrage because it’s me posting it, again.
