I was about 12 in the mid 50's A red Coventry Eagle with Sturmey Archer (3) gears. God I loved that bike.

When I was about 10 I used to have a bike that folded in half so you could fit it in the car and places.

one of the funniest things i ever saw happenend when someone was on one of those bikes, well it was funny at the time. it was'nt long after christmas and a lass along the street was going down a grassy bank out the back, she hit a gravel soakaway in the middle of the bank and went straight over the handlebars ive never rolfl so much.. the bike split in half they obviously never tightened the bolt up which held it together
