Paper talk?

According to Loughlin in today's Northern Echo

"Hull are keen on Kenton Richardson and have regularly been watching the 19-year-old right-back, with an offer likely this month."
https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport ... s-departs/

It's a bit under the radar if true.

Not a chance, he gets beat too easily and they turn him because he is too close but my knowledge only extends to the back of a stamp

I heard that he was going to move to this standard of football three months ago - a bloke who knows the same as you (but on the back of a parcel stamp) told me - we were standing on the NC Terrace discussing whether we should be positive or negative when he said 'Kenton is a better player than many on the PJ Bunker think, watch this space, he'll end up somewhere like Hull'.

I think he could develop into a really good player under good coaching.
If i was him and the interest is true i would be off.

On what skills or attributes do you base that?

Hes only 19 and i think the pundits call it raw talent and aint doing to bad at the moment considering the constant changing of the defence.

Im asking what makes you think he could develop into a really good player under good coaching? Or is that just a comment you have made because of his age?

Always liked Kenton Richardson, there is a decent player in there somewhere, needed a run of games, he is getting them now. I doubt Hull are interested but wouldn't like to see him go anywhere. We had another similar player a couple of years ago, Dan Jones, he was released too early, I wish he was playing left back for us now.

I liked Dan Jones as a player and thought he was unlucky to get released back in 2016. The fact is though that he didn't make the grade at his new League Two club (Grimsby) and is still at Barrow. So it would only have made sense for Pools to hold onto him if they knew they were heading into the National League.

Us Pools fans have a natural tendency to overrate home-grown players. Speaking of which, I see Crewe Alexandra have given Brad Walker permission to look for a new club
(that's a no thanks from me by the way).

He never looked like a left back though not good enough on the ball he did very well in the left of three centre backs next to David Mirfin during the ‘Great Escape.’

That new club Walker is talking to is Shrewsbury so it’s hardly a backward step. I still maintain he’s the most exciting young prospect I’ve seen at Pools when he burst onto the scene at 17 he seemed to change physically over one summer and become just a bit more cumbersome and heavy legged. He still has lots of natural ability though he showed that when he slotted in at centre half. I’d hardly say he was overrated though according to some Pools fans and the abuse he got latterly he was the worst player to ever play the game!

James Brown will always be the one that should have done more for me. After his first injury he was still absolutely spectacular, could have cut it at a much higher level.

hull will not pay much anyway. its a gamble for a 19 year old lad and with the fee they paid its a gamble worth taking.

I watched most of the Barnet match on telly and he was one of your more impressive players.
However you lot see him week in week out so I guess it could have been a one off.

How many 19 year old 6 foot full backs are playing every week..not many

He clearly has all the attributes to be a fantastic player he just need the right environment to develop. Sadly I wouldn't of thought that was here.

Strange one that, having been loaned out to clubs like Hyde and Lancaster.Didn't set the world alight at Lancaster , but 7 goals in 15 for Hyde , prompting a league club to take a punt on him.

Brad Walker has signed for Shrewsbury but will stay on loan at Wrexham until the end of this season.
