Following on from the story about the police not coming out in Hartlepool, when I arrived at the match last night at about 7.35., there were 7 police officers congregated around the gate by the ticket office.

Don't know if there were any elsewhere around the ground but, bearing in mind that everyone knew that the attendance would be low and that home fans were hardly going to be set upon by the Gillingham Massif, I would have thought the even 7 police was overkill.

Being cynical, could it be that overtime was on offer because Pools will be paying the bill??
